Finally we tried it, and loved it ! The place is very clean, well organized (Sunday night holiday). First off the drink, they... have a decent draft selections, had a few and was great. The appetizer, fried catfish and oysters were perfect. They give youlots of different sauces, even if just a splash of lemon/lime juice is the best. We got a combo crawfish/shrimp for the main, with enough warning we still choose the Fire Spicy level, and let me tell you it kick ***. It has gost pepper in it, been toldafterward :D. Amazing, loved it. Sorry for the bad picture, but they drop you a bag of food on your table, very authentic andcasual. Not Instagram friendly but tasty. With all tips and taxes included it was $120, cash only, not too bad. We woulddefinitely come back! Read more

The Boil Astoria is not only a gorgeous atmosphere, but a remarkably exciting experience, as well. We ordered the shrimp... cocktail, soft crab, & oysters for starters. All fantastic. To drink, the Peach Lemonade is a must. The star of the show, however, was the full 1 1/2lb lobster. It was served steaming hot in a bag of garlic lemon goodness — accompanied bypotatoes, corn, & all the garlic you could imagine. The wait staff was very attentive throughout our time there & the owner isa true host. Highly recommend! Read more

Very happy that The Boil opened a location in Astoria. I've been to their other locations many times. Went for dinner with my... fiancé soon after they opened and it was exactly as we expected. Delicious, no nonsense, fresh seafood. Service was excellent(keep in mind they have a minimum 20% "service fee" for dining in but, this includes the gratuity so its perfectly reasonable). Will definitely be coming back. Read more

Great food but cramped restaurant with long service and hidden “charges” The food was delicious! If you’re not a crawfish... fan like my family, you could switch it out for shrimp in the combo bags as well. I just found the service taking way too long.I ordered garlic bread at some point in the middle of the meal, and it took them 30 minutes to prepare! The other thing I wouldadvise against is dining in! Not only do they tack on a pretty hefty tip percentage, but they also calculate taxes based on thefood costs + tips, which means you pay so much more just because you dine in. Other boil restaurants aren’t like this, soI’d advise going to a different place with roomier seating, faster service, and less dine-in fees. Read more

I really enjoyed the the boil. The food was great and I think the price isn’t too bad I wish there were more options. If you... mix the options it gets more expensive. The staff are great! Read more
