A couple days ago my wife Pam and her sisters met for lunch so I took the opportunity to dash over to Moo's BBQ and treat myself... to a generous scoop of pulled pork, three bones of baby back pork ribs and a side of fabulous BBW baked beans. That pulled porkliterally melts in your mouth, it's really that tender. The ribs are very meaty and every bit as juicy and tender. I opted forthe Texas Toast instead of the cornbread, it was nice and buttery, really tasty. I particularly like a 50/50 mix of Moo's sweetand hot rib sauce, has a very nice flavor and just a bit of heat, a just right balance. Just happened across this place while motorcycling across the USA. I've been to lots of BBQ joints in my travels & this is by... far & away the BEST I have ever been to. Their meats are smoked all the way through, not just a thin rind on the surface. Thestaff is very friendly & attentive. They made sure I was one satisfied customer by the time I left. Newton may be a little outof the way but if you like really excellent BBQ, go to Moo's. Voted the best BBQ in Iowa for good reason! Read more
I had a Melody burger with bacon mac & cheese & he had a brisket sandwich with fries. The burger was one of the best I've ever... had. The brisket was meaty & delicious with just a little fat on the edge. It was sliced thick & piled high-lots of meat! Allthe sauces were yummy! Next time I'll stay away from the mac & cheese. Not the slow baked kind I prefer, but more pour somesauce on noodles, stir & top with some bacon. I wish I'd taken photos, but we were too hungry & forgot. Stopped through on my way back to Kansas City. Reviews got me to stop in and I'm glad I did. Family ordered ribs, brisket, and... a pulled pork spud. Fantastic. Sauces were all great too, but I liked the sweet the best. Building was a bit dated, butgenerally clean. Service was friendly and patient, while they helped us through the menu. Great find! Read more
