Avanti is a landmark. They have been here for more than 40 years. The menu is pretty much the same - according to my mom. It is... a comfort food for the students at ISU. Drove from Indianapolis for some Gondolas. Was surprised the bread tasted different, not sure if we got next day bread because... we stopped in about an hour before closing. My first and last time ordering from this place, the food was not very impressive and I was disappointed with the preparation .... The pasta was dry and the meat sauce was tasteless. Nothing could be compared to the advertisement even the gondola sandwicheswere hopeless three thin slices of ham and half a slice of salami and cheese no dressing.
