We came in the evening of September 17,2022 for the last time unless things change. I really hate to do this and it took me a... couple of weeks to write this. I was really wanting fish&chips tonight but ended up settling on Chinese food instead. We used toorder from Captains Choice at least twice a month (sometimes twice a week because we loved the food so much) and used to raveabout this place but the past few months the food has been awful! I don?t know what they did but the fish isn?t fresh, thetempura batter is not tempura, I don?t know what kind of batter was used but it looked like the scrapings from the bottom of thedeep fryer (it was absolutely disgusting), the fried shrimp was not deveined (no excuse, that?s just gross) and they changed thetarter sauce which I loved. It seems as though you guys got a new cook and it was an absolute mistake. I do want to say thewaitresses are phenomenal just as they always have been but unfortunately because of the food we won?t be back for some time.Also I don?t know who the cook was when we came into order but I witnessed a waitress apologizing asking for an extra piece oftoast for a customer and he rolled his eyes and said ughhh. The answer should have been absolutely coming right up! The waitressshouldn?t be scared to ask the chef for anything. I added a picture of our food that night for reference. This is the secondtime I?ve received fish that looked and tasted horrible in the past few months. Everyone that tried it spit it out and it was awaste of $80. Was greeted when we walked in... A+ on that. Most places ignores you until they are available to seat you. Acknowledgement is... the key especially if the place is busy. Our server, Steph is awesome, very attentive...A+ I had half and half which consist ofbreaded fried halibut and grilled snapper, accompanied by french fries and coleslaw. Hubby has bacon cheese burger and clamchowder. All in all, it was a great experience, great food and excellent service. Will definitely recommend. Read more
We wanted to try some seafood in Coos Bay and there are very few options, so we decided to try this. The staff was very friendly... and the food was good. I think because of the nature of food service delivery, the quality is really going to depend on when itwas delivered. The reason I don't give it a 5 star is because it needs some cleaning and there were flies, but that happens. Ifthey took some time to really clean this place up I would give it a 5 star. Read more
Absolutely amazing food! I got the half and half, which was perfect because I?m super indecisive! I didn?t have to pick between... the halibut or red snapper, I got both. Win! My wife got the chowder bread bowl, which she absolutely loved! Well done! It wassuper busy so we got our order to go, so unfortunately we didn?t get the full dine in experience.
