Enjoyed another great meal here. Our 4th time here. We eat here at least once when we vacation in North Myrtle. Will always keep... this place on our "must eat"places. Service very friendly and if you arrive at the right time you can enjoy someentertainment. Couldn't leave another review about our 5th visit, but another 5* experience. Had the cordon Bleu thistime...... delicious. Will come back every visit to NMB. Read more

I don?t know where my review went to but it?s been awhile. Had to write another because the one review I read which was quite... lengthy who had just moved to North Myrtle Beach was outrageous. I have been eating at this gem of a restaurant for 29 years andevery time I come here for vacation for a week in May and most of August. The ladies who work here and it doesn?t matter whichone are sweethearts. This restaurant is incredibly busy around dinner time with large parties but if you are on vacation youneed to relax. You will enjoy your food better. I have never had a bad meal here in 29 years nor was I given bad service orignored. I miss seeing Horst but usually he?s there on Saturday. I usually go during the week for my cabbage rolls and all youcan eat pork chops. The best on the planet. This is a wonderful place and every order is cooked with love and it tastes it.Horst I will be back next May. See you then. Read more

This is my new #1 stop on my yearly trip down here. Being German decent, there aren't many authentic restaurants around home. I... ordered the Wiener Schnitzel, and it was cooked perfectly and tasted amazing. The sauerkraut was delicious, as well as thepotato salad. My wife got the bratwurst and pork chop. Both were delicious, and I ended up eating the brat. (Best I've ever hadby the way). Got there right after opening, so missed the live music. Hopefully I can catch it next time. The service staff andwaitress were great. Read more

Easily the worst meal we've had since moving here a few months ago. Service was terrible. Our server had 4 other tables. There... was another server in another section also had 4-5 tables. Our order was already placed, and the table next to us came in,ordered, received and finished their appetizer, and received their meals before we got our appetizer. I'd normally say, maybe itwas a longer app, but we both got the potato pancakes. Which were so greasy, and rubbery. My pork was decent, luckily I preferit dry. The spatzle was lacking flavor. (Salt and pepper helped a tiny bit) The german potato salad was weird and slimey. Arethese canned potatoes? My husbands goulash was gamey. Just not our place. I finished my pepsi while eating a pancake and didn'tget a refill (despite the server mentioning she'd bring one and then proceeding to help the other tables) ... she literallyasked every table if they were doing okay at one point and skipped us. While my cup sat empty. We aren't hard to please, wearen't demanding or rude. The service was awful. The food was awful. Will not be back! I know they won't be missing my business, but hopefully you all consider somewhere else to frequent also. The only positive for us? The live accordion was nice! Edit- ifyou're thinking about dining here, please read the owners response to other 1-2 star reviews. Straight up rude and clearly doesnot receive any type of negative feedback well. Read more

We got a order to go. We called but person I spike with said "I can't hear.." then hung up so we had to drive there and order at... the bar. Ordered Horst Gashaus special plate with sauerbraten, 2 sausages, red and white sauerkraut and potato dumpling. Comeswith rye bread. Order was very fast (10 minutes) which made me wonder if things are freshly cooked. We also asked for applestrudel. Service was OK. Didn't feel very welcoming...but maybe (looking for right word) perfunctory. Meal was adequate for 2people. The sausages were good, so was the sauerkraut. They should stop making dumplings. These were not good at all and apotato pancake may have been better. Sauerbraten was dry and pretty bland. Strudel was good but for the price it was anincredibly small piece. Staff had lead us to believe we were going to get such a large piece it was room enough for 2 withleftover. You can be the judge in the picture. Figure to spend $15 to $20 per person (as of this writing) with no leftovers, and certainly no alcohol. Add alcohol, expect the price to rise accordingly. Read more
