My wife and I stopped for brunch on our way from Bath to Acadia Bay Inn in Sullivan. We ate on the lovely outdoor patio/deck.... The brunch menu is very creative with many riffs on eggs benedict among other delights. We enjoyed the brunch so much wereturned two nights later (1hr 10 min drive each way) for their Monday dinner that features Mexican food using Maineingredients. The salsas, in particular, were excellent. You know the cooking is good when everything on the plate tastes great! When you want something different from the usual Maine seafood, the Hoot is the place to go. Read more

Let me first start off with the good. The atmosphere was perfect, the wait to be seated was not very long, and some items we... ordered tasted great. The experience I had, however, was awful. Once we were seated and had our food order placed (smoked hameggs benedict, hash and eggs, pancakes, rice and beans), we waited for AN HOUR for our food to come out. Our waitress neverchecked in at all to alert us of why it was taking so long. She only took our order, brought our drinks, and the next time shecame over was to deliver our food an hour later. Apparently the normal amount of time to wait for a meal at this restaurant is50 minutes, but I was completely unaware of that. As anyone would be. So my girlfriend and I were just sitting at our table foran hour, no communication from our waitress, wondering why it was taking so long. When our food did come, I asked why the foodtook an hour, and she gave me a rushed response along the lines of ?we?re a cook down today so it?s only 2 cooks for the entirerestaurant and also it usually takes around 50 minutes anyway for food to come out but sorry about that?. Now, my girlfriend andI are the most understanding people, both of us have worked in restaurants and the service industry in general for severalyears, but sitting down waiting for an entire hour for brunch? Without knowing anything of why it was taking so long? That?s notcool. We would have asked our waitress why earlier, but she never checked in with us so we never got the chance. It made us feelentirely uncomfortable and not wanted as a guest in this restaurant. We did talk to the manager as well because we truly feltlike we didn?t get a good experience, and he brushed us off and we ended up paying the full price on the bill and leaving. Wereally wanted to enjoy this restaurant, if someone had told us that it would take at least 50 minutes average for meals to comeout we would have been more prepared and understanding. If our waitress came to tell us they were Read more

Very nice patio to enjoy an outdoor breakfast! We had the lemon ricotta pancakes and the hash and eggs. Both were excellent. ... Prices are very reasonable, service was great. One of the better breakfast places we have tried! Will be back! Read more

Food was okay, it lacked flavor in a lot of ways. Despite lack of flavor it was all really fresh and the side veggies were... tasty. Atmosphere, drinks and service were awesome though. Read more

We enjoyed Moroccan Night at The Hoot! The drinks were top notch, we enjoyed the lamb and braised beef, both were so flavorful... and the perfect portions. We ended our meal sharing the Cardamom Saffron Custard and Orange Cake with Almonds & OrangeBlossom, fighting over the last bite. The staff were very friendly - Highly recommend *I apologize for the lame photos, I willtake more at our next visit :) Read more
