This is by far my favorite sushi restaurant. Never disappointed. I've been for lunch several times. My favorite rolls are the... Angry Bird, Bonita Roll, Samba, and Sushi Bomb but the others are delicious too. I also like to get the tempura shrimp meal (notappetizer) as it comes with tempura vegetables, salad and miso soup. If you are in the 9 Mile and Novi Rd area you should stopby. However, make reservations if you're going for dinner. Stopped by the other night and there was a half hour wait at least. Read more
A mansion turned into a restaurant, has actually great dining arrangements. Our server was very friendly and guided us about... what to order based on our preferences. They have a good collection of sakés. We also ordered a few fancy rolls and they didnot disappoint. Everything on the menu tasted pretty authentic. Would definitely go there again. Read more
Have visited here with family several times for different gatherings and birthday dinners. While the service sometimes can take... a bit the food is exceptional. They have a lot of different Sushi varieties and they are all pretty tasty! If you are lookingfor good Japanese food or entrees, Shiro has a good variety! Read more
On March 22, I was visiting from out of town because I?m moving to the Novi area. My friends recommended Shiro and the 3 of us... went for dinner. We sat upstairs and we were the only ones up there, not too busy. I might give this place another chance butdefinitely not because of the experience I had that night. The ?host? was dressed casual, gym shoes and what looked like ahoodie, definitely took away from the setting and BAD first impression. He was very young and seemed completely uninterested tobe there or dealing with our seating, barely made eye contact. It felt as if he was working at his parents restaurant and wasbeing punished to work, his demeanors were as if we interrupted him doing something. Our waitress had a frantic energy, andher service style was definitely from an Applebee?s type of venue. She wasn?t knowledgeable and brought our main courses whilewe still had appetizers in front of us. We spent GOOD money, minimum 250$. I didn?t pay for the tab so I can?t be sure but Iknow what we ordered. From cocktails to appetizers with fresh sashimi to seafood main course to 2 desserts, tea and coffee. Ihave included some photos describing my dining experience. When she delivered the desserts she THREW, threw, the 3 spoons in themiddle of the table. This is the most Applebees or IHOPs service gesture I can imagine and even there I have received classierservice. I DO NOT blame the host or waitress 100% but more the management who hires individuals who aren?t trained for upperscale dining venues, pays them, without any doubt, minimum wage, and charges patrons top dollar for food that?s o.k. and wasn?tseasoned enough, plus less than mediocre service. This is an excellent example where a great service would have shadowed the soso flavor of the dishes. Sashimi was dry and I am pretty certain the fish wasn?t all fresh but frozen. The food and service was great. I am.giving 3 stars due to atmosphere and cleanliness. The old house is cool, but sitting at... the sushi bar was not appealing. The counter was sticky, there was a lot of dust and crumbs, and due to the room being so smallit was very loud. Im sure if I had ordered take-out this would be a 5 star rating. Read more
