Only by chance did I see an intriguing review regarding Cafe 28 that inspired me to give it a try, and wow, am I pleased that I... did. After just a few bites, Cafe 28 became my most favorite restaurant in the area. The owner/chef imbues each bite with suchunique ingredients that conjure up such new and unique flavors, I honestly haven't enjoyed a meal this much in a very longtime. Some highlights: The falafel. What. Is. This. Magnificent. Flavor! It is light-years better than any falafel I've tastedbefore. Oddly, I didn't think falafel, due to its ingredients, could taste very different but this was such a delight. And it'sshaped differently too, making us not only tasty, but easier to eat. Apricot drink. Sweet, creamy, cinnamon-y, an intoxicatingconcoction inspired by the ambrosia of the gods that lacks words to describe just how terrific this drink is. It's tucked awayin Cobblestone Village and has a very unassuming exterior that belies the hidden treasures of flavor inside. A definite musttry. Read more

The main problem with the place is the the owner is basically fully Kanye West. I feel bad for him tho, some places are cool... when there is only one person running the show. But I don’t think for a full sit down restaurant you can do it with one personand then yell your only one person. The reason why you’re only one person is cause you’re too cheap to hire even one helper. If you want to be one person show it should be a good window. I honestly do feel bad for the guy tho, he just is set in bad waysunless the restaurant is just a front for money laundering and he gets angry when people come in. Some of the stuff was good, but not good enough ton make up for the full chaotic nature / maniac. Hire some help and don’t speak to customers, cause youdon’t know how to. Cook the food in the back and start doing deliveries. Especially when you’re charging $28 for grilledchicken lol. Step up your game brodawg. Or throw in the towel. Read more

My daughter and I were in the mood for some sort of mediterranean food after an appointment at the Eatontown DMV. We did a... search and Cafe 28 came up. The restaurant is located in a cute but underwhelming shopping center which made us hesitant atfirst but ultimately decided to give it a try. Boy are we glad we did! We were greeted and served by a gentleman who I laterdiscovered was the owner. He seemed annoyed by us at first, even though we were the only two people in the place but he managedto crack a small smile here and there afterwards. We decided to overlook his attitude and enjoy our experience since you neverknow what anyone is going through these days. The inside was cozy, clean and had nice background music. We arrived at 3:00 andwere disappointed that the lunch menu had expired and they moved onto the dinner menu. Nevertheless, we ordered the HaloumiCheese appetizer which was fresh and delicious. For our meals we both ordered the Falafel platter which came with the mostmouth watering falafel I have ever eaten, delicious hummus and greens. We asked if we could substitute the greens for ricewhich he gladly. Everything was outstanding! We would have loved to try dessert but we were stuffed. This restaurant is amust go if you are in the area and are in the mood for delicious, fresh homemade meal! We can't wait to go back! Read more
