Absolute worst experience EVER. Saturday afternoon, I had mentioned to my daughter that I had never even been inside The Straw... Market, so she suggested that we stop there for lunch. Once inside, we saw a sign that stated ?Lunch Special - chili, breadstick, drink, and a bakery item - $6?. We both decided to order the lunch special. That?s where the crazy started. The kidat the counter didn?t know how to ring in the special. The other kid came out from the kitchen to show him how and questionedwhat we meant by the $6 lunch special. We showed him the sign. He rung it in and went back to the kitchen. We paid for our mealand within minutes we were told they were out of chili, but they could give us potato soup instead. We agreed to that. We satfor 10-15 minutes but what we could hear them struggling to figure out what bowls to put the soup in. The kid at the registercalled the owner to ask what bowls to use and was told that the potato soup was for an order that night. We were made aware thatthey had no soup for us and asked what else we would want. We told them we wanted a refund. After getting our money, we tookthe bakery items we selected when we paid for our order and our sodas (the Dr. Pepper was out of order) and headed for home. When I unwrapped what we thought was a red velvet cookie (the kid at the counter had no idea what it was and nothing in thebakery display was labeled), I noticed the discoloration on the chocolate chips. I?m thinking this is what happens to chocolatewhen it gets old. That aside, we ate the cookie and the brownie because that?s all we got for our lunch. While eating thecookie, I noticed something in my mouth that was crunchy. WHAT?!? I dug it out of my mouth to find that it was eggshell!!! Never again will I go to The Straw Market. My college-aged son told me, ?Mom, don?t ever buy anything that they makeat The Straw Market, we only ever bought the pre-packaged stuff when we would go there back in high school.? 10/28 at 4:35. I had ordered a Chef Salad and got a Spring salad. My daughter had a Club sandwich with very little meat on it.... My granddaughter had a BLT which had 2 slices of bacon, 1 tomato slice and 1 leaf of lettuce. We are very disappointed. I was inthere during lunch hour a couple of weeks ago and had a Club sandwich and it was wonderful. Let friends and family know howgreat it was. But after tonight I may only come for the cinnamon rolls, which are great. Read more

First problem was taking 30 minutes to make a salad. 30 minutes. 1 salad. When i got my salad and quickly went back to work... because my entire lunch break plus some was wasted waiting, i opened it and saw the poorest excuse of a salad ive ever seen.Turkey and ham thrown on taking up 40% of what was there. The salad tasted bad, and 20% of it was extremely thick mushrooms thatwere out of place and tasted awful. So little lettuce. gosh ive never regretted ordering something like this Read more

Went in to try a few baked goods. First walked in and no one was around. There wasn't a bell to ring, or a sign to indicate... someone was there. I would have walked out but I did see people sitting with food, so I waited around. FINALLY someone came outfront the back, unapologetically asking "what do you want?" So, obviously not the employee of the month, but I at least expectthe guy to know the basic of the very few bakery items they did have once I started inquiring. Sadly, his reply "I don't know,I just sell them," was just as lackluster and apologetic as his greeting. Another huge disappointment, they only had threeavailable bakery items even though they list at least a dozen. Despite this, we ordered a cinnamon roll and pumpkin chocolatechip cookie. The ignorant attendant proceeded to SQUASH my cinnamon roll while wrapped it up, like intentionally!!! He wrappedit in a way where all the frosting stuck to the wrap. I couldn't believe he'd been trained to do that! Worse yet, and promotedthis review in fact, was both items were completely RAW! Not a little under baked, but raw! I'm going to have to go home andcook these (if I even bother) or risk getting violently ill. What kind of place is this!? Read more

Decided to finally try breakfast here, but it was a bad experience. I ordered their loaded breakfast, but it ended up being not... so loaded. They forgot my toast, the country gravy, potatoes weren't freshly fried, and they got my meat wrong. I orderedsausage and got raw bacon instead (which is exactly why I never order bacon in stuff like this). Doubt I'd be willing to trybreakfast here again. Read more
