The ambiance and service are a 5. The food is very average . Nothing special in my opinion and so over priced. Salad was... underdressed and very average. Risotto was good but no better then any other restaurant I?ve been to. Branzino was a bitstrange. Flavour combinations, I?m just not sure they worked . Olive oil cake was dry and I just didn?t enjoy the dessert. Youare paying for the ambiance and service so if that is ok with you then i would dine here. I?ve have many meals that were farbetter. I honestly think wrt reviews for restaurants in general many people have high expectations going in and then drinkbefore their meals, get slightly buzzed and think the food is fabulous. And then write a review. Maybe I?m too picky. But Ireally didn?t think the food was very good. It?s fine. There were some things we did enjoy so I will say it was a hit and missexperience wrt food. This was the ultimate dinner out for our anniversary and worth every penny! The staff treated us like we were the honored guests... and they treat everyone that way. The attention to detail carried from the expertly prepared and fabulous cuisine to the bestwine pairings for every course with perfectly executed timing. Best restaurant in town. Did the 5 course menu. Food was amazing. I am nitpicky and couldn?t find fault with anything. If you... appreciate amazing food and service this is the place for you. Our server Dakota was phenomenal and had a vast knowledge of eachwine pairing. I?d come here again in a heartbeat! Highly recommend. I also love this restaurant doesn?t allow young children. Olivella is a beautiful extension of Ojai Valley Inn?s elegance and charm. The rustic vibe is right up my alley - loved the... decor and table settings! We came here in celebration of my sisters birthday and had such a great experience. My only criticismis that we were encouraged to opt for the 5 course meal as we were told that the portions were very small. They were full sizeportions, and it was so much food, we had to tap out! That said, the menu was well balanced for the veggies and the meat andfish eaters of the group. Remember to bring your appetite and wallet because this meal will fill you up and set you back! But inthe end you will feel your money was well spent and certainly that your belly is very very full. Read more
