Visited this restaurant on Monday afternoon.... I will say that maybe this was the problem. It was after 4pm and everything was... not up to temperature for me. I got a rib plate (4 bones) with mac and cheese and Brunswick stew and a pulled pork sandwich withthe sweet BBQ sauce. The ribs were just off the grill...I mean they brought it in off the grill. The mac and cheese was on a hottable behind the counter and the person fixing my plate scooped it into the individual serving cup. The plate came with 2 sides,2 slices of white bread and pickles which ended up being sweet ???? and not dill. The pulled pork sandwich was a standardsandwich on a bun. Ok the ribs were tough and dry and had no seasoning, the mac and cheese was cold and didn't taste like anymac and cheese I've ever eaten and thsts not a compliment. The white bread on the plate looked like pieces that were close tothe ends so they were a bit hard. The pulled pork nas decent it was nicely seasoned but wasn't dressed with anything just moresweet pickles.. I didn't like the bbq sauce. I tried the sweet kind it was thin for my taste. They had sweet, hot, Al white andvinegar. They also had a good variety of drinks and tea available self serve and all you can drink while you dine. Inside diningroom was spacious and they did have an outdoor patio that was cute and covered . I didn't get a picture of it. There was a goodsized parking lot. The pulled pork with spicy barbecue sauce is really good. Sides were just okay.
My boy friend and I were just passing through on our drive from FL to NC and stopped at Butcher Paper for a late lunch. The guys... were very friendly and the service was quick. We got a few different half sandwiches and sides and they were all fantastic. Thepulled pork with the mustard was partially delightful. The meal was crazy affordable, the sauces were free, and they gave us afree banana pudding because they were out of the peanut butter pie that my boyfriend wanted (and it too was delicious). The people are friendly and courteous - Smoked 1/4 chicken (white) was smoked perfectly. Tender but done. Very tasty! But, the... portion was much smaller than I expected. - Their Spicy BBQ sauce is among my favorites. Frankly, I would buy it in the storeif it were sold in bottles. Wouldn't change a thing about the sauce. - Cole slaw was very tasty as well , Mayo type which is myfavorite style. Portion was just right. - Brunswick stew was a good portion, And tasted fine. Lots of meat. Only problem was,it was cold. I mean refrigerator cold. I couldn't eat it but didn't feel like complaining. Such a beautiful day and friendlysmiling people people.... I like going here from time to time. I suspect the small chicken portion is a result of inflation weall are coping with. The price reflected the higher cost of running the business, and the small portion of chicken alsoreflected inflation. Think they should choose one or the other.
