We tried Rick's for the first time a few months ago and loved it. Fast forward to my 10year old's birthday party this past... weekend and he specifically requested Rick's BBQ and Fried Chicken. Rick catered my wedding celebration over Labor Day weekend. I'm so glad we went with him. He worked very closely with us to... put our menu together. We have out of town family and friends coming and I'd like for them to get a southern BBQ feast. We hadribs, pulled pork, fried chicken and all the fixings: mac & cheese, potato salad, baked beans plus good old sweet tea. Ourguests raved about the taste and the quality of the food. One of the quiet surprises in eastern North Carolina. A barbecue chef from Maryland comes down here and shows most of the locals... up and how to do Q. Everything about this place is scratch made and great. And Try his fried chicken! I think the Colonel couldlearn how to make fried chicken from this culinary artist. And his other meats will make u want to go on a Keto or Adkins diet.Well worth the trip here. Read more
I don't normally leave reviews but feel the need to with this one. Best place I have eaten in the past 24 years! Yes it is that... good. This place has it all; above perfect service, AMAZING food, nice and clean atmosphere! This was our second trip ...I wasgoing back for the BBQ (which is the best I've had since those family backyard pig cooking weekends in rhems Tuscarora in theearly 90s) but when I got there they had this rosemary baked chicken...oh my it was the best thing I have EVER tasted!! Ever!! Ihave tried their fried chicken, bbq, baked chicken, potato wedges, collards, macaroni and cheese, coleslaw, and their cornbread.Would recommend it all. They are consistent and definitely know what they are doing. I had the chance to tell the owners todayjust how much their food has impacted me in just my two trips. Since having covid Jan 2021 nothing tasted good..nothing...untilRick's bbq! So much flavor in everything and I can definitely taste the love they have in their food.
