This a great place to celebrate a birthday with a family group, like 10 to 12 people. They really put on a show for person... celebrating a birthday. The food is tasty. The folks are friendly. Our table chef was engaging. Read more

This was probably the blandest tasting hibachi I have ever had!!!! That's the gist of it,besides that the restaurant decor is... very good, and the initial server was very attentive ( that's why im giving 3 stars instead of 2 or 1). The cook was eitherinexperienced or didn't really care but regardless of the excuses he used 2 eggs and about 2 tablespoons of soy sauce to cookfried rice for 10 people, the shrimp tasted frozen and again didn't have any seasoning. My advice to the restaurant is to atleast make sure the cooks use more soy sauce. Read more

This was once one of the premium high-priced, special occasion places for the area. I went there with my family about a week... ago. It was so disappointing. We sat in the front side (not at the hibachi table). The staff was all kids. They were talking toeach other from across the restaurant, cursing, dropping the f-bomb even though kids were present. Out of three orders, two ofour orders were wrong. The kid-server was like "um oh sorry man." Like another reviewer mentioned, it was very underwhelmingcompared to some other similar restaurants in the area. The portion was very small and lacked the wow factor I usually get whenI'm there. The appetizer (lettuce wraps) which could get pretty messy was served with no individual plates. Although there wasplenty of space, we were seated right next to another party and a dirty table. The table of dirty dishes sat there through ourentire meal. The kids had time to play, but no time to clean it. IF I go back, it will be a long time from now. It was a lot ofmoney and an unhappy experience. Read more

I have been to Takeya numerous times and will probably be back but there are a few things to mention. The staff has been nice... every single time I’ve been here and never had any issue with the service. The prices here have always been a bit higher thanother Hibachi places but recently (and understandably due to inflation) the prices are a bit ridiculous in my opinion for whatyou get. This Hibachi restaurant’s vegetables provided are only zucchini, mushrooms, and onions. I just like to mentionbecause it’s a little underwhelming compared to other similar restaurants that also give broccoli, carrots, etc. They seem tobe cheap in that regard at Takeya. I’m typically also underwhelmed at the portions but this most recent visit they seemed topile on the rice, maybe to make it seem like you’re getting a better value for your money with these inflated prices. Iordered the dumpling appetizer which is pictured below for $8.95. I was extremely disappointed in the small size and quantity ofdumplings (4) for the price. I would definitely not order this again and if you are expecting an appetizer for two to share, this is definitely not it. As for the Hibachi experience, it was non existent. Our chef did not do anything besides the onionvolcano. No knife clacking, not much guest interaction, no knife twirling, egg throwing in the hat, flames on the table, drawinganything with a cracked egg, “egg roll” “butter fly” nothing at all so if you are seeking that, don’t come here forit. I’ve been here about 10 times in total and have never really had any of the chefs provide much of a show. Now with thesenegatives I’ve mentioned I will say that the food is always tasty and is the reason that I do return when seeking hibachi fordinner and not having many other options close to home. Dinner for two, an appetizer, and one soda cost us $78. Read more
