Amazing baklava! And the owner is so friendly and welcoming. It is more a restaurant/cafe than a grocery store, as they mainly... have many food and pastry options. I think it would be more easily viewed on Google if it was labelled as a restaurant or cafe.I lived in the area for 3 years before discovering it just because it doesn't come up when you search for restaurant. Great at what they do! We were looking for a Greek meal (Fresh fish, fancy light Mediterranean - sort of like Milos). We went... to Ilios Traiteur based on the reviews. We were surprised to find a cafe rather than a restaurant. No fish, no fancy stuff. But the owners were so sweet and were so obviously sophisticated culinary practitioners that we decided to give it a try. WOW! Everything we got was fresh and perfectly prepared. The moussaka was the best you can find at any price - and I have had it atall the top Greek restaurants in NY and many other cities. Ilios is very special. The salad was perfect and perfectlyportioned. My wife had artichoke fennel and pea dish that was out of this world. The souvlaki was perfect and delicatelymarinated. The place is so humble that you would not expect the food to be at this level. You don't get a variety of fish, andthe menu is small, but what they do make is worth every bit of five stars. We will not likely visit Montreal again without astop to Ilios! Read more
