Our first visit, on a previous cross-country trek, we experienced 5-star food, drink, service, plus fun, and rated / reviewed... accordingly. But, I deleted that because this go-round turned out the opposite: Our server didn't know how to ring items up;We were seemingly abandoned by her, left to sit several 10-15 min periods; So that finally we resorted to getting our own firstround drinks at the bar; Shrimp came extra-greasy; Wings took so long I'd lost my appetite; She was again unsuccessful with oursecond round drink order; We gave up on our plan for ordering desserts; Then it took her 15 min to get our check figured; Andthe whole while several servers were milling around many empty tables and chatting with one another. We used to be weekly patrons of the Hooters on Metcalf in Overland Park but this establishment has gotten, dare I say,... disgusting. For starters, one of the exterior handles on the double door is broken and has been for weeks. It dangles upsidedown by a single screw. Secondly, the ongoing sewer smell has worsened with time. Upon entering the restaurant last Monday, weturned on our heals and quickly exited as the smell made us physically sick. More often than not, not all of the ceiling lightsand not all of the TVs are working. EVERY bar stool has ripped vinyl, therefore cutting the back of one?s knees. On Monday ofthis week and today, a Wednesday, we attempted dinner at Hooters but left due to the tap beer not being up to correcttemperature and therefore they were only offering bottled beer. When craving Hooters wings, my husband and I will drive 25minutes to go to the Kansas Speedway Hooters. I urge corporate management to address the issues listed above. It pains us tosee wait staff that we?ve gotten to know over the years disappointed and upset seeing people turn around at the door oncestepping inside the decrepit establishment. Read more
Myself and the wife ordered a Michelob ultra and a Corona, but received two Coronas instead. The chef did not know how to cook... the Daytona wings correctly and when tried to recook them, he overcooked them. Received fries after we almost finished all ofour food and was given the excuse that there was only one server and cook. When we came in, there was only one other table, sothere shouldn't be any problems keeping up with the order for two tables. And if the cook was that far behind, the managershould be back there helping to support him! With the current prices due to inflation, If I spend close to $100 to get somewings and a couple drinks, I would expect to actually have good service and a decent meal prepared correctly. The crew hereneeds real training, and management needs to help them to work as a team when short -handed. But don't worry, I still left adecent tip because otherwise I would be the bad guy even though it wasn't deserved! Read more
Ivorii was my server. She took great care of me. I started with a Guinness and some fried pickles. Then had a grilled chicken... with mayo and grilled onions. The pickles were crisp and the chicken was juicy. Ivorii tried to tempt me into a desert or asecond Guinness but willpower held out. She's super cheerful. I'd say ask for her. Read more
