We always love coming to Ixtapa. The owner is very attentive and entertaining. He educates everyone on the history of Mexican... food and what is wrong with common Mexican food topped with gross yellow cheese. Everything they make is so fresh and delicious.It tastes like you are at your friend's house and their mom or grandmother is in the kitchen cooking up something trulyauthentic. My favorite is the fish baked in the foil with vegetables- not something you would typically think of ordering at aMexican restaurant, but it's so light and refreshing, I promise it's the right choice. We also love the Pork Oaxaca, Pollochapala, and any of the specials. They often have live music on Friday nights with an acoustic guitar and harmonica playingfavorites by the Beatles, Neil Young, Billy Joel, Bob Dylan, among others. This place is officially my Husband and I go to place. It has a beautiful atmosphere and attentive wait staff. Always seated... imedeately and Victor the owner makes every visit special. We are here for our second visit in less than a week because the foodwas so incredible we couldn't wait to try something new. Had a really delightful lunch today. The restaurant is very clean and the atmosphere is pleasant. Our waiter was very busy but... very attentive despite him being the only one. Oh my word. I will never go to another Mexican restaurant again. This is the place to go. I have never met staff so friendly or... accommodating in my life before. I wish I could give them more than 5 stars. Our server knew what drinks my husband and Iwanted and we didn't even look at the menu, haha! I know that sounds crazy but he was so dedicated to his craft that he justknew what I liked and disliked. Our mains were phenomenal. Melt in your mouth steaks and their sauce was house made, I wish Iasked for the recipe. My husband absolutely loved his bacon wrapped pork medallions, he was dancing along to the music while hewas eating. Dessert was unbelievable. I wish I could describe it better.
