Very good restaurant with an excellent wine list and small but comprehensive menu. We were seated at a 715pm reservation... promptly (arrived early) in the farthest room from the entrance. They have a great selection of 1/2 bottles which you don’tsee often. Our waiter was excellent and attentive. We enjoyed the scallop app and Halibut entree; shrimp entree- all preparedvery well. One of the best restaurants in Monterey. Simple and refined menu with complex and flavorful dishes. The duck was rich and had a... great crispy skin and the biscuits were amazing. A must go to restaurant if you're visiting the Pacific Grove/Monterey area. I highly recommend getting a reservation because... this place is popular. I'll start by saying the service and atmosphere were amazing. I never felt like I had to flag anyonedown as they were incredibly attentive. The food was ridiculous. I started with the biscuit, and that thing is so good. You candefinitely taste the buttery goodness. If it matches the recipe you can supposedly find online, it uses a lot of butter. Me andmy partner ordered the Duck Confit and the Scallops as our entrees. The duck was incredibly savory and fall off the bone. Thecrisp skin also had amazing flavor and texture, while the meat just melted in your mouth. The Scallops were so buttery, and justseared enough to add some color and flavor without detracting from the freshness of the Scallops themselves. I was alsoextremely pleased to learn that all the seafood they use is sustainable, which is wonderful. The desert was super tasty. Theyuse leftover biscuits to make the bread pudding for a delectably buttery treat. Overall I was super impressed with thisexperience and I will make it a point to come back here the next time I'm in town. Read more
