Loved this place. Sweet and sour cabbage soup was killer. They have excellent fresh cut fries. Service was great. I found it... accidentally on a business trip. Will definitely be back on my next trip to the Chicago area. Read more
Good food, not very welcoming. I called at 3:02pm and made a 7pm reservation. When I got there, the 12yr old hostess wasn't able... to locate the reservation. There was basically no one in there. I said it looks like I really didn't need a reservation as thegirl continued to look. Its called thinking on your feet considering there were plenty of open tables. How about "Ah, I have itright here, lets get you seated Sir." Instead she rolled her eyes as she walked us to our seat. The hostess then made us aninside joke with the bus boys. Whatever. Get to the table, no drink menu, no silverware. I got up to get a rolled napkin withsilverware from another table. Dirty knife, so I used a fork for the butter. Now to the waitress, she tried, but I'm not sureshe knew how lousy the experience already was. I had to ask for coffee and desert. Nothing was offered. The hostess kept givingsnotty looks at me the entire meal. The saving grace was the food. It was cooked well and very good. I tipped the waitress 50percent as maybe an incentive to maybe provide better service. I never saw the waitress again and not even a thank you for thetip. Party of 8 was celebrating a milestone birthday. There was 1 server for the whole dining room at 6:30pm on a Wednesday. We... waited a long time to finally be waited on. Everyone couldn?t believe how bad the food was. The salad was dark greens thrown ona small plate.
