Just had dinner here and my experience was very underwhelming. In an attempt to be considerate of the staff, we called ahead to... order our food so that we wouldn't be keeping them past their closing time (7pm). I got the Kimchi Fried Rice with Chicken andmy Wife got the West Coast Bowl. My wife was happy with her meal although the price seemed a little high ($24). I thought theKimchi Rice was good, although it didn't taste nor look fried but the Chicken wasn't flavourful and for $22 I expected a biggerportion because it wasn't enough to fill me up. There might have been a communication misunderstanding because our food wasready in a ToGo bag when we told them we wanted to dine in. It's worth mentioning that the girl at the front was very friendlywhen we arrived and very friendly to everyone leaving except for us which was awkward. Lastly, it's a big pet peeve of minewhen I have to pay for my meal ahead of time and give a tip for food I haven't received and service that has yet to beprovided. Gluten free options available. Good gluten free donuts. Nice Carmel sauce with apple fritter. I didn't taste apple though. I... ordered chicken ramen. It was not good. The chicken flavours didn't not work with the broth it was served in. The broth neededsalt and pepper but there was none on the table. My son had a rice wrap that just fell apart. None of their dishes are servedwith sides. 1 pulled pork sandwich with no side is 17 dollars before tax. My small soup was 16 before tax. Read more
This is only my second time at Realm, but I will be back so many times. The food is healthy and so so delicious.
While camping out in parksville we decided to find a decent place to eat. We noticed lots of people getting take out from Realm.... We were intrigued and were immediately met with friendly staff and a great atmosphere. To be honest I didn?t realize the ideabehind this place in before we sat down. The goal of realm is to provided locally sourced and sustainable products. I absolutelyloved the concept and wanted to truly enjoy it. The prices were higher than expected but I didn?t mind if I was paying forquality ingredients. The portions were small and somewhat bland. My partner and I both agreed that we feel 100% satisfied withthe value. We felt that we could get food that was better somewhere else and also cheaper. We have come to understand that whilethis restaurant is about the food, it is more so about the way the food is sourced. For the crowd that enjoys this sort of foodit is a fantastic place to go.
