The quality of the ice cream at Salt & Straw surpasses the hype! The only ice cream that I have ever had that could compare was... the dessert at a farm to table fine dining restaurant. It was hand made earlier that day by a chef using local dairy and freshberries from a nearby farm. Honestly, that is what is so cool about Salt & Straw. They focus on using fresh local ingredients.Their rotating seasonal menu is mind-blowingly good. At the time of our visit it was still berry season. The berry pie ice creamwas a heavenly experience of pure food joy! My wife and I treated ourselves to dessert here on our anniversary this summer. Itwas busy but the line moved fast. We tried a couple of samples which to my surprise we served on metal spoons. When done youjust drop them in the spoon chute which is built into the counter. What a fun feature to have reusable sample spoons. If it isyour first visit I highly recommend that you focus on the seasonal menu. Everything there is hand made in small batches usingthe best local and seasonal ingredients so its all going to be fantastic. There is just something a bit more exciting about aseasonal menu in my opinion. I also recommend that you check out the About Us page on their website. What an amazing story. From a basement to a food cart to a gourmet ice cream chain. So, do yourself a favor and give this exceptionally excellentgourmet ice cream shop a try soon. Read more

This is one of Pasadena?s artisanal ice cream joints. There is usually a line in the weekends but in moves fast. One can sample... flavors before ordering from the accommodating staff. The strawberry honey balsamic with black pepper and honey lavender are mygo to flavors. The blue cheese pear , chocolate gooey brownie and birthday cake with blackberries are also popular flavors. This place is very popular that they always have line. I just had my birthday celebration with my friend, and on my way to pick... up my car. It happened that there was no line. I am not going to miss this chance. They allowed for sample with metal spoons. Very eco-friendly. Due to Covid, they created a hole on the customer a to drop the spoon in. I picked salted, melted chocolateshop cookie dough. The ice-cream was smooth and creamy. I like the taste of it as it was not overly sweet. Services was fast andfriendly. I will come back for other flavors again! Read more

Wow what hype and wow the prices. Came to $6 for a single scoop. I got the salted caramel one. It was very good. Super creamy... and rich and the caramel was thick and gooey and exactly what I wanted. But $6 killed it for me. Also tried the cookie doughflavor and that was nothing special to me. Was too sweet and cold. Read more

This is my favorite ice cream place in the city. They have about 3-5 vegan options which rotate out every month. The staff are... also very helpful when trying to find your perfect flavor and will offer you a sample without hesitation. Indoor seating isavailable but limited. It's the perfect place to grab a cone and walk up and down Colorado Blvd. Read more
