The owner, John, is a very genuine and welcoming person to everyone. You know he opened this restaurant for all the right... reasons. I always feel appreciated and included when I'm there. The food is 5-stars delicious, and they feature local foods tosupport and celebrate the community. (There's also gluten-free and vegan options for those looking for that as well.) Also, theservers are all phenomenal people. John loves good food, good drinks, and good times, so you know it's going to be a GREAT placeto enjoy all three. There's also a beautiful event space above the restaurant that is great for weddings, parties, etc. Lots ofwindows and natural light. Last, but certainly not least, John books fantastic musicians for live music several nights a week.Between live music, trivia nights, and featured cuisine from around the world, there's always something fun going on andsomething new to enjoy. If I could come here every week, I would! I recommend this place to all my friends in AND out of town! Read more

I have no words to express how grateful I am to Peta and her amazing team at Local. We rented out their upstairs for my wedding... and reception. Every single thing was perfect and wonderful! The space was great for my 42-person wedding. Peta was soaccommodating and communicative throughout the entire process. And the food was incredible -- people are still talking about it!You truly can't get better service than at Local. They feel like family now! I highly recommend using them for any small event. Had a wonderful lunch at Local Eat Drink Celebrate today! Server Christina was upbeat and friendly, and she helped us select... from a diverse menu. Husband chose some tasting-sized craft beers, both were excellent. I was intrigued by the Jalapeñomimosa, and it was awesome. Our meals were the grilled shrimp over fried rice (excellent) and the Hot Chicken sandwich with acrispy Brussels Sprout side (yum). Finished with a shared peanut butter and chocolate pie that was sinfully scrumptious. Kudosto bartender Pete, server Emily, and Christina whose enthusiasm and attentiveness made our visit especially fine. Thanks toall! We highly recommend this establishment. Read more

This is a MUST STOP! The food is AMAZING. The atmosphere is gorgeous.... old South Carolinian bricks, beams, mantels. So... beautiful! Great music. Local artwork. The staff is so friendly! Great craft beer selection and bourbon. A peach cobblerthat is worth the 20 minute wait! We had the hot chicken sandwich and the crab cakes. Phenomenal! One of the owners, John, stopped by several times to check on us. We will definitely be back! Oh, and they're an upstairs banquet hall for events thatis beautiful! This is a local gem in Pawleys Island that I will recommend to EVERYONE! Trivia nights are super fun, too! Read more

Was brought here for my birthday dinner and it did NOT disappoint. Our server Beatrice was really nice and super helpful. We had... the duck confit taco appetizer for the table and I split a cute loaf entree with my mom; both were outstanding! My grandmotherhad the shrimp and oyster basket and was also very impressed, and she's always picky with seafood. Definitely recommended ifyou're looking for something a little fancier but not intimidating. I wish I had a chance to grab one of their cocktails, butI'll save that for next time. Read more
