Ichiban in Pearl was a great choice for Hibachi. To start, the entry was very inviting and luxurious. The staff greeted as we... walked in the door, and we were seated immediately. Given the time of day we visited (early afternoon), I can not speak on howbusy they may be during peak hours. The waitress was attentive and prompt with our requests. The chef was at the cooking stationwith our selections slightly before receiving the drinks and sides. He confirmed each order, and began prepping immediately. Hedid not do a full performance which was okay as we were hungry and ready to eat. Once he completed the order and left thetable, the table was cleaned within minutes. Sushi in Mississippi is rare! This place is pretty good although the rice was a little dry and it took great skill to keep my... sushi from falling apart each bite with my chop sticks. I sat at the bar area which had a great look and excellent decor,however, the constant gospel music playing was a huge turn off. Nothing against religion but I rather listen to something morefitting given the fact I'm not in church. Warning: You will not enjoy! You go to places like this because you know it's going to cost more but it's supposed to be... entertaining and fun. The only times our cook on my daughter's 15th birthday looked up and said anything to us was when makingsure of our order and threw 4 or 5 pieces of egg for whom wanted to try and catch could try. Worst experience I've ever had. Noteven playing with utensils was used. He cooked and that was it. After seeing my bill of $195 I talked to the manager. $24 plusas you se automatically added as a tip then want more. They gave me the same amount the taxes were of only $15 something. Niceplace.
