We decided to support Small Business Saturday at Don Pepe's which we have talked about for some time. OMG The chicken soup is... amazing here! The bowl - which must be close to quart-size - was chockful of shredded chicken, rice, avacado and veggies withjust enough delicious broth to qualify the dish as a soup. This is definitely a comfort food to order up over the coming winterfor an extra-hearty lunch or supper (with some queso for the chips). One caution - I did not expect the chopped raw jalapenos(of which half went uneaten) so maybe request a light hand on those or get them on the side if you don;t tolerate so much heat.Hubby was very satisfied with the soft beef tacos and the great service. I hope in the near future they publish their menu -which is surprizingly extensive for a local restaurant - since they could do great take-out and catering business, as well, Best wishes for continued success! This place says it's a bar on the outside, but when you walk in, one side is the bar and the other side is the restaurant. It ... was really great! Food and service was excellent, had a little bit of a wait because the place was packed, and for good reason! I had the Pollo Popeye which is chicken covered in spinach and cheese. It was so good! We have been here more times than I can count and it?s always incredible! But tonight I want to leave a review because of our... server Jorge. Jorge made us feel like we were at a 5 star resort in the Caribbean during our entire meal. Absolutely exceptionalservice! We ordered a pitcher of margaritas and we never had to refill our cups. Not once! Even though they were slammed withbusiness, we felt like the only people in the restaurant and it was noticeable that all his other tables felt the same.
