This bakery is such a special place that reminds you of the rich history of the Dutch in Pella. I love the traditional dress... uniforms and all the beautiful things for sale in the shop section of the store. We usually get the sprouted whole grain bread,some danishes, a Dutch letter or two, and a cupcake for the kiddo. We visit every time we go to Iowa, and my parents (who arelocal) go about once a week. Great people, great service at very fair prices, never ever disappointed, always delighted. I look forward to the short drive to... Pella to the cleaners because then I get to stop at Jaarsma Bakery for a treat to eat on my road trip back home (Breads,Cookies, Nepolions, Dutch Letters, Cherry Turnovers for my wife and Cream Horns etc, etc). I love this amazing bakery, it's likebeing a kid turned loose in a candy store, they also carry a very large variety of Dutch related gift items. Jaarsma Bakery hasto be seen and experienced in person to be believed. I wouldn't make it a week working there before eating up all their profits,gaining 60+ lbs and then being fired. lol Read more
