Took a long time to get our food. Everything we ordered, Meats and sides had to have already been prepared. Ribs had a good... taste but were a little dry. Same with pulled pork. Sides were just ok...all in all mediocre at best. Read more
I called in an order to pick up, got the brisket dinner ($13.95) with baked beans and fried okra (+$2.00), a mesquite smoked... turkey salad ($9.75) and a baked potato ($2.75). I was told it would be ready at 4:30. I arrived at 4:30 and besides the bakedpotato, my order wasn't ready. I ended up waiting another 15 minutes for it. They didn't appear to be terribly busy, but I getit, things happen. While I was waiting for my order to be finished. I could see in the kitchen and was slightly shocked. Thecook had a wrist in a cast and was trying to plate food one-handed, the server was just standing at the till waiting. There wasa hunk of meat on the table in the kitchen, that could only be described as leftover pot roast. The cook was pulling strings ofmeat off the roast (brisket???) and throwing them in the to-go container. Mind you, there was no indication that this was abrisket, it was just a wad of meat partially wrapped in foil about the size of a grapefruit. The wife said the baked potato wasundercooked and crunchy in the middle and that the turkey salad was okay. Even though she didn't finish her salad. Aside fromthe obvious, that the brisket was cut properly, it was flavorless, gray, and barely warm. It truly tasted like pot roastinstead of brisket, a mildly beef flavored chewy meat with the cold fat coating the inside of my mouth, leaving a greasy buildup. Seemed like it was smoked for a bit then kept in an oven the rest of the day. I was extremely disappointed so I thought tocall the manager/owner to discuss. Pick up time was at 3pm it wasn?t ready, made the order and payed 2 days in advance. Payed for 6lbs of bbq and got 5.5lbs. I... even questioned the weight of the one that was supposed to weigh 2lbs and was dismissed. Next time get a scale and check. Itmakes the customer want to come back because in this case the customer was right. This was the first time I have everexperienced this kind of service so I will come back. Read more
