Returned with my wife and we both had another very nice experience. We shared a bowl of 50/50 artichoke green chili soup,... followed by Calamari steak sandwich (we substituted the Cajun seasoning with Italian seasoning), followed by home made pie withice cream. Note, the pie crusts are one of the best we have come across. Recent events apparently have taken their toll onprices, since prices were quite a bit higher than our visit 3 years back. Read more
A friend from work told me about this little local place since we were headed down to Pescadora Beach. He said Durarte's has the... best pie. This place is only open from 12pm to 3pm Tuesday thru Friday and this berry is only picked in June. I paid $9 a sliceand it was worth the drive from Sacramento. I was told to try their artichoke soup, however a local told me to get their halfand half, half artichoke and half green chili. Read more

Finally made it into this family tavern. We were too late for dinner as everything 8n town was closed already and it was 7 pm... but we were lucky enough to.ger in for Happy hour. A gem of a place. The food here is spectacular, which isn't a word I use frequently. Everything from a simple bowl of cream of artichoke or pepper... soup (or a combination) with warm sourdough bread to the sandwiches and more elaborate dishes are absolutely delicious. The piesare also amazing, especially the berry. It does fill up, so best to come at off hours. I drive an hour and a half to get hereand have a bowl of soup, that's how good it is. Read more
