I came here with family and we were very happy with our experience! There were a lot of meze options so we started with a bunch... of those, then each of us got entrees. The sea bass was incredible and I could eat it every day! Service was fantastic and Ican't wait to go back! Read more

I have been in Philly for five dinners, each one carefully picked, and this was by far the best. Truth be told, my original... destination was closed because I went pretty late on a weeknight so I walked a little bit and found this corner spot bustlingand I am so glad I did. I mentioned to the server that this was my first visit and they recommended the Crispy Brussels Sproutsas a starter. They sit on top of a creamy carrot dip. Absolutely delicious. I was also brought Mutabal, a hummus-like eggplantdip with perfectly crisp pomegranate on top served with delicious warm pita bread. I was told this dish was a gift, I’mhonestly not sure why I was generously gifted with this but it was also delicious and I was quickly having a wonderful dinningexperience. My main was the Adana Kebab, a lamb kebab with great onions and pepper and rice that was better than rice shouldbe. The lamb was perfect and I savored every bite. I had had more then enough food but I couldn’t resist dessert. Incrediblebaklava capped an honestly perfect meal. Service was perfect. I was dining solo and like I said it was late but I was givenperfectly attentive, sincerely kind service. The whole experience felt organically warm and welcoming. I am considering dininghere again while in town because it was such a great experience. At any rate I won’t miss it my next time through. Thanks tochef and the great staff. Read more

This restaurant really surprise us. It is a BYOB, and you can buy wine or beer two blocks from Kanella. Food was incredible and... delicious and they have complimentary hummus! Watermelon and feta cheese starter was my favorite. Read more

We opted to sit outside and the waiter was extremely attentive throughout our meal even though it was extremely busy. He was... practical in his advice, giving options to pick up alcohol across the street and around the corner since they are BYO. We askedabout the set menu and he was realistic that it was a good amount of food whether we wanted leftovers or not. We ordered 2appetizers, 2 entrees, and a dessert and were very satisfied. Some may argue for more meat with the entree but the price can'tbe beat! The beef is from cuts of filet mignon per our waiter and we're undoubtedly tender! The pumpkin dessert was unique butdefinitely smaller than we expected.. would definitely return to Kanella! Read more

It wasn’t busy when we came in but I did make a reservation via Resy app. The place has about 15 tables, give or take. So if... you are just visiting Philly like me, make a reservation to avoid the wait. We have tried the: mutabal, tzaziki, hummus, adana(lamb) kebab, chicken shish, beef kebab, levrek (sea bass), baklava, and lots of pita bread. My favorites are the adana and thelevrek. The adana is very juicy and the reddish sauce that comes with it really complements its flavors. The salad with itshouse-made dressing that comes with the sea bass is very light and refreshing. The restaurant has a somewhat Greek ambiancewith its white walls and chairs and blue window frames. There is a neutral gendered restroom as well. This is by far the bestcustomer service I have experienced here in Philly. Definitely 6 stars if that’s possible. Read more
