I loved Vedge; it was phenomenal! They do not use any fake meat which is very impressive, yet it tasted incredible. I loved the... pretzel fondue. The mushroom steak had similar texture and flavor to real steak. Dessert was great too! Highly recommend! Read more

Upon walking into Vedge, I was kindly greeted by the front desk and promptly seated at a cozy table for one. It’s a warm and... dimly lit restaurant, which creates the perfect atmosphere for a date or friend reunion. The food menu was simple yet elegant,so you won’t be overwhelmed with indecisiveness. There is an extensive wine selection if you would like a glass to unwind. Mywaiter was extremely attentive and bubbly, and we chatted extensively about the unique ingredients. His passion really shinethrough, and his energy was infectious! Here is what I ordered, and my thoughts on each! Your Name in Lights Drink (pineapple, lime, cinnamon): it was pleasant but not too impressive as it tasted a bit like sour sprite. I couldn’t pick out any notes ofcinnamon, but it was still a good refresher nonetheless Stuffed avocado: absolutely beautiful presentation!! The pickledcauliflower was a bit overpowering, but the tangy almond romesco and creamy avocado really shine through. Great portion - I waspretty *stuffed* after this ;) Charred delicata squash: my favorite by far. Wonderfully grilled, perfectly tender, luscioussauce, and incredible harmony. The char seriously adds a nice tang that fits perfectly with the overall dish! Sticky toffeecake: 10000/10 the warm, gooey toffee cake and the cold toffee ice cream were just out of this world - the sweetness level wasimpressively balanced, given that there was even syrup on the bottom of the plate. I still drool just thinking about thisdessert. Hands down one of the best I’ve ever had! Highly recommend Vedge for a high-end experience - the food and the vibeswere immaculate :) Read more

We finally made it to Vedge! First off, I want to clarify that this is not fine dining. I went here assuming it would be a... thoroughly considered establishment in both space and concept, delivering food and service that stick in the mind. It’s notthat - but it could be. I would still recommend dining here but don’t expect anything more than a great Phillyrestaurant. There are a lot of issues in comparison to any one star Michelin, which I believe would be within reach for Vedgeshould the restaurant make some tough decisions and the committee ever decide Philly is worthy (hint - it already is.). I’lloutline them below. Unfortunately, the vibe of the restaurant does not feel ambitious or intentional. This could have changedover the years… I have heard stories of the tasting menu from when they first opened. Vegetarian fine dining is no longer anovelty and it’s time for Vedge to be more precise in their aim. To start, the music didn’t feel right - and if the softrock pub music suits the vibe of what *vedge* is then it should have been a tad louder and more intentional with selection.Heck, if they want to be a pub they should lean into it more and I’d appreciate it. What’s blasting through those speakersmatters as much as what’s on the plate. The space has much wear & tear, and the seating is the least comfortable I’ve beenat in a restaurant for some time. The only area that felt special and distinct was the bar area with its marble top. There’stoo little conviction. I kept staring at a gap just to the left in the pews my partner sat on wondering why it hadn’t beenfixed. The bathroom has no style at all and offers the dreaded pink soap, which to me displays little attention paid to thefull sensory experience. It’s a small detail, but soap lingers on the hands and can even bring people back to a restaurant ifdistinct enough (of course with everything else also meeting standards). When we were done with dishes, there was a lot ofhesitation from waitst Read more
