We had a delicious brunch. Every dish and drink we got was amazing and had great portions. The staff were accommodating and... friendly which was coupled with a cozy, creative atmosphere and decor. Would recommend a visit. The soups (we got sweet potatocurry and bean soup) were a huge highlight. Read more
Every once in a great while you stumble across something really unique and special. The Dizzy Hen is definitely in that... category. Many restaurants do a great job and deserve a four or five star rating. This place goes well beyond thoseexpectations and really deserves 10 stars. Anyone who has dined here knows exactly what I'm talking about. It's not just theincredible food at a great value, but it's the whole vibe of the place. Everybody is just so kind and welcoming even though it'sa hustle and bustle environment from the time you walk in, to the time you leave. So much love and care for not just the food,but for their staff and the customers. The owners are truly remarkable people to offer such high quality delightful meals atincredibly low prices as well as having a staff that works so well together and love their jobs. I have never met John who mansthe kitchen, but if he is anything like Hattie, I'm sure he is very kind and capable. Portland quality with hometown atmosphere and prices! Very wonderful flavors with hearty servings (really?..consider... sharing). Friendly atmosphere and original recipes. I had the Dizzy and my wife had the cherry French toast. Hand smooshed pattyof darn good sausage. Smoky ham. Sausage gravy. Perfect potatoes. A wonderful stop if you are on your way to the coast! I meant to take a picture before I started eating, but alas, I could not control myself and immediately dove into the pork ragu.... Though I challenge any man worth their salt to resist the alluring aroma of any dish at the Dizzy Hen, I dare say it is notpossible. Even while I write this review, I am shoveling spoonfuls of yummy grits in between words. I also applaud the queerfriendliness at the Dizzy Hen. The restaurant is any queer couple's dream manifested. My only complaint is that the menu waswritten in all lower case letters. What's up with this new typological trend? What did the upper case ever do to deservethis? Regardless, I will be coming back to the Dizzy Hen as often as I can and you should too. Read more
