For a fast food spot I was incredibly impressed at how they were able to pack such an enormous amount of explosive flavors into... a dish in such a short amount of time! I?ve come to really love and appreciate Indian food this year, and Choolaah delivers! TheMango Lemonade is amazing!!!! Read more

I?ll start by saying I generally liked this place. I ordered the Perfect bowl with paneer, yellow daal, grilled veggies, and... white rice. I got the mint yogurt sauce to go with it. I also ordered the samosa appetizer with Choolaah ranch, and a chilledchai for my drink. The paneer was very good, if a little on the bland side. The grilled veggies were good and seemed like theywere fresh, but I felt that they were just a filler, and didn?t necessarily complement the dish overall. While the veggies didhave a nice grilled flavor, they didn?t have any other seasoning as far as I could tell. The yellow daal was tasty, having goodflavor and a very slight hint of heat. The samosas were good, and you get 3 small samosas per order. The naan was very good, with salted butter and onion seeds. It was also cooked fresh in a tandoor clay oven, and you can watch how they cook it, whichwas interesting. The mint sauce was good, but the Choolah ranch wasn?t my favorite, and I?m glad I didn?t get it as my mainsauce. Speaking of sauce, I?m used to sauce being the star of the show with Indian cuisine, and having plenty of sauce to putover the rice. That is not the case here. The sauce portion was very small, and I think their goal is that you use thedaal/masala that comes with the bowl as the sauce. I think it would be better overall for them to offer some protein optionsthat are cooked in a sauce. I will agree with other reviewers that the only downside to this place is the price for thequantity of food. My bowl with naan was about $14, and with the appetizer and small chai the bill came to just over $22.Considering that you can generally go to a more traditional Indian restaurant and either get the buffet or order off of the menufor somewhere in the $15-$18 range(including a drink) this seems a little pricey for what you get. That said, I enjoyed themeal and the overall quality of the food. If it were a little cheaper, or if the portions were a little bigger, I would Read more

Fantastic. Super fresh. Lamb meatballs were BOMB. Tikka masala over pro bowl is the way to go.

Let me tell you about my experience. I walked in not knowing what to Expect... The menu was a bit intimidating for an amateur in... the Indian Food. I shook my head and started heading to the door. Gracie stopped and asked if I needed anything, I said themenu was a big overwhelming and I was probably gonna head next door. She asked if I wanted her to walk me through the Menu, which I agreed. I am very happy that she stopped me from walking out the door. She talked me into a meal, and it was beyondexpectations. I will be back, and I'm bringing friends! Read more
