Very solid and tasty grilled cheese sandwich. Pleasantly surprised at the quality and prices are all decent. I've heard very... good things about their French toast breakfast sandwich but haven't tried that yet. I did try their grilled cheese,though. This was quite a tasty sandwich and definitely satisfied my craving for a grilled cheese. Classic and tasty. They useclassic white bread and make it nice and toasty. The portion is pretty good for the price (enough for a decent meal). They usemultiple types of cheese, such as American, Swiss, and Provolone. It all seemed high quality. If you get takeout, heat it up andenjoy all the delicious cheese. It melts together better that way (cold, the cheeses somewhat separate). This place is not openfor dinner, but it a great spot to get lunch or even breakfast for a good price. It's a little but inconvenient of a spot forme, but good food. I'd recommend it for good classic sandwiches and will come back for French toast. Read more
Ida's is the real deal - a sandwich shop that makes real sandwiches from high quality, fresh ingredients. They are a... neighborhood secret that better get out, because this city needs sandwiches, and Ida's got 'em. I've had the Engine 34 ChickenSandwich twice now, and on my most recent trip, I got the hot club sandwich. Both were delicious - freshly cooked, carefullydressed. I was asked if I wanted pepper or salt on my tomato, a detail which must be tried if you've never tried it. I didn'tknow! We just moved to Pittsburgh and this was the first place we ate near the area we live in. Very welcoming and courteous. The shop... seemed clean and well-kept, and the food was beyond excellent - very fresh and perfectly seasoned. Amazing prices for theportion sizes and quality.
