It is rare to come across a true one star restaurant experience because the restaurant either closes or it takes notice and... fixes everything overnight, in this case I hope for the latter. It's a given that in today's world service might be slower dueto lack of employees but two and a half hours for one meal is a bit extreme. My wife and I waited for 12 minutes before we weregiven a table, which is perfectly acceptable, but the first turn of the night is when someone was set down after us and waswaited on before us. Not just a minute or two before us, they were at the table next to us and the waitress took their order andthen disappeared into the kitchen. Even though our neighbors to the table next to us finished and left a half hour before wedid it appeared that they did not have a pleasant experience themselves. The wife had ordered a meal and when the entree arrivedshe asked about the salad she never received and said just take it off the bill. Her waiter, instead of fixing the problem, saidit's included in the meal price so there's nothing to take off. My wife and I were eventually ask for our order and we'rebrought bread and oil. Considering this is an Italian restaurant theme I was hoping for good bread and oil but what came out wasloaf sliced bread and tasteless olive oil, both cold. With their wood-fired oven it does not seem a stretch they could at leastset the bread or a small loaf in there before bringing it to the table and perhaps add some seasoning to the oil. Once ourorder was placed my wife and I waited 90 minutes for our soup and entrees. After tasting it I chose not to eat the soup just asI did not to eat the bread and oil. My wife ate about half of her soup. I ordered the veal entree in my wife ordered thechicken entree, both with pasta and sauce. Only about half of each piece of my veal was cooked properly with the other halfbeing undercooked, while my wife's chicken seem to be overcooked and we joked that it came from a rubber Read more

This place would be great if they had good salads. Blue cheese dressing is mayonnaise or taste like it. Thousand island is... marinara sauce with mayo and runny. Iceberg lettuce. Bread sticks have no flavor/yeast. Bread is very bland, no yeast orflavor. No fresh Parmesan cheese as expected in an Italian restaurant. Cute decor. Way to many menu items to be able to careabout the flavor but ok if your expecting equal to fast food Italian. Read more

Our team continued our pizza discovery journey. Since yours truly recently moved to Plainfield ,IN we gathered the team to try... a local Italian restaurant's pizza. Sal's has been around for many years in Brownsburg, Plainfield and Mooresville Indiana. We decided on the cheese and Sal's Special pizzas, 16" each and both wood fired. Our team of four comments included: " I likedthe crust but could use some salt , more tomato sauce and cheese. (cheese pizza)"; The Sal's Special had adequate amount oftoppings of pepperoni, black olives, green pepper , onion. Sausage is a topping also but was scant in amount. "The texture ofthe Special is good including the crust and toppings however there is not a cohesive flavor profile. The individual toppings ofcourse are tasted but not as a complimentary blend. The sauce is scant and doesn't seem to bind it all together". Anotherteam member thought the Special "was reminiscent of a Papa John's pizza". The 2 pizzas and a house salad to share totaling $52,we didn't believe this was a good value for this product . Three members gave a 3 star rating while the fourth have 3.5 starrating. Running a brick and mortar establishment contributes to cost but unfortunately does not necessarily translate toexemplary product. While a serviceable pizza , it could/should be much more at this price point. Our pizza journey continues. Read more
