I heard about this restaurant and wanted to give it a try. It's on the corner downtown Plattsmouth, at 402 Main St. There was... only one waitress trying to take care of all the patrons by herself, and I think there was only one cook in the kitchen. They dohave a sign on the counter for Help Wanted! They are only open from 11a to 3p for lunch only Monday thru Saturday, closed onSunday. They only have sandwiches, so I ordered the ham and turkey on sourdough bread and a pasta salad, my daughter ordered apanini. It seemed like it took a while from the time she took our order to when we finally got it. For dessert we ordered thebrownie sundae and the huckleberry ice cream. The sandwiches were good but enjoyed the dessert, the huckleberry ice cream wasreally good as well as the brownie sundae. If you are looking for something different try this little restaurant. We stopped for lunch today and it was by far the best sandwich I have had in awhile! My dad got the roast beef panini and I had... the hoagie sandwich. As soon as we walked out we both said I would come back and make the 40 min trip again. Now 3 hours laterwe are still talking about how good it was! This is one of my favorite places to grab a sandwich or milkshake for lunch. Our entire office loves to eat here. Whenever we... welcome a new staff member, River House is almost always our choice for lunch. The Italian is my favorite.
