I miss the old bovine. The one where customers were able to go inside, sit down, and have a cup of coffee instead of stand... outside in a line. The one with reasonable prices. The one that didn?t close ridiculously early. Because of the 2 pm closingtime, most locals coming home from work won?t be able to stop in the afternoon for a delicious pastry from their local bakery.Bring back the old bovine! Read more
I was in Point Reyes earlier today and was walking by Bovine Bakery. I asked the lady who was cleaning the counter outside if I... could buy a Cookie. She said they were closed for the day and they will reopen tomorrow at 8:00 am. I told her I lived faraway. She looked at me and said "wait a minute " ! she went inside and came with a big smile on her face and a small bag inher hand that had a Chocolate Chip cookie . I wanted to pay her for it, but she wouldn't take my money. I insisted , she simplysaid " It's on me ". I have to say , I hardly ever eat sweets or anything that has sugar , but their cookies and pastries areabsolutely delicious and not too sweet. Bridget , your kindness and generosity made my day . Had the doughiest, blandest, non peanut butter tasting peanut butter cookie ever. Felt like eating wet cement just chewing into... eternity. Got two, one for me and one for the wife. One went into the garbage and the other we both couldn?t finish together, itwas so bad and lacking in enjoyment one would expect from a cookie. Maybe they do other things better but I?ll never know. Surprised while visiting Olema that this isn?t a bakery where you walk inside. You order whatever from their window. Bought two... pastries. Delicious! Prices are a bit high but I understand their reasons. They get a lot of customers daily, which is great. Read more
