So we live in Lake Mary and have been looking for some authentic Hungarian food in the Orlando area for a while... My wife has... found it!! I was visiting my parents in Daytona and my mom wanted to go out for lunch. I don't make a very good tourist, so I wanted to... find something that was non-touristy and not a chain. To my delight, I found Herbert's Bakery & Bistro. I hate to leave a reviewbecause I feel like I found a local secret and should keep it all to myself. ???? Follow the directions on Google because youwon't see a sign from the road. I don't know all the details but it appears to be a true family affair... run by a Europeanfamily from Hungary. The menu has a great variety of real food, food with flavor, texture and color, carefully prepared... acomplete delight for the senses. If you're still hungry, there is an excellent variety of baked goods and deserts. The dine-inarea is small and quaint. If you are in a rush phone ahead, otherwise relax and imagine you're in a European cafe. Take yourtime to enjoy the delicious food and friendly people. Read more
