Got the Bahn mi combo with tofu and pate, also asked for coffee instead of soda. The spring roll was freshly made and yummy, ... the coffee was the promised Vietnamese sweet instant also yummy. The star was the sandwich: the roll was pillowy on the inside, delicately crackly and flaky on the outside, the tofu was chewy and delicious, marinated veggies were perfect, lots of freshcilantro, etc etc. This sandwich was a huge hit with me. I called at the early 11th hour but they open at 1130. Gentlemen was friendly and helped with placing an order. They packed it... to go but when we got there they were able to accommodate us by dining in. Wish there was more herbs but they have chili oil! Read more
I've been eating here for several years and I don't know why I haven't written a review. I think that when I get my food it's so... damn good I eat most of it before I take a photo... The soup is very tasty and definitely phofilling! (perfect on these coldwindy Port Townsend days) The stir fry noodle is phantastic! :-) But I have to say my favorite go to meal is the bánh mì sandwich, talk about philling! The sandwich with a spring roll and drink special is the best deal in town and delicious. I'mvery impressed with Randy and his hard working, friendly crew. Went for a late lunch today and this place was fantastic! The traditional fresh rolls were huge, the peanut sauce, not too sweet... or salty which was refreshing and the pho tai was filled with savory flavor and plenty of tender beef. The fried rice was fluffyand not at all greasy. Nice to add condiments as wanted instead of salt laden dishes that we are more commonly served in otherpho places.
