My family has been going to Buathong Thai for years and it is one of our favorite Thai places to eat on this side of town. With... that said, this is where we took my father for his 81st birthday and had a great time. The unassuming shop is located in astrip mall off McLoughlin. Parking can at times be challenging as it is shared with many other businesses. However we didn'thave any problem with 4 cars showing up on a Saturday evening. The restaurant was pretty busy for a Saturday. Most orders wereto go but there were quite a few diners in the establishment. Even so, the service was great. The place is family run with theowners diligently working the kitchen and their nephew working the front counter. Food here is fresh and of hearty proportions. It's one of the best values in town as they don't skimp on the fresh vegetables, noodles or meat. For example their Avocadoshrimp Salad rolls are two rolls cut in half totalling 4 servings. One half of a roll is almost the size of two rolls at otherplaces! I ordered the lemongrass chicken salad and I easily had two chicken breasts on top of my salad. Definitely be hungrywhen ordering from here or be prepared for leftovers. Overall, during these difficult times of rising inflation and deflationon proportion sizes it is nice to see some places remain the same. Love this humble little Thai restaurant. The young man who takes our orders (he must work every day, because he is the only one... I've ever seen) is such a kind and gentle soul. He always reminds us that it's a lot of food and we always order way too much.We are all too happy to eat the leftover for the next few days. I?ve only picked up the fried rice from here, several times. Both the pork and the duck are amazingly good fried rice. On top of... that, the amount of food you get is insanely large. I genuinely get 3-4 meals out of one order...I wish I had scales so I couldweigh it it?s so much, haha. So, an enormous amount of food, combined with the exceptional flavors, makes it an incredibly gooddeal. I would confidently try anything else from here. The people are incredibly friendly the small amount of time I?ve beenthere to pick up my orders. The dining area is small and quaint, but has a lot of seating and personality. I?ve ordered pickupduring an evening rush before and my order has never taken longer than 15 minutes to be ready. This is THE best Thai food I've had in a few years. Very nice people, huge amount of food. So worth every dime. I bought... SP-7.Skirt steak well prepared over chicken pad Thai. Lots of chicken too. Also bought Green curry with excellent eggplant andall fixings. Perfectly spiced. Not hot. I'll only buy their Thai food going forward. Read more
