This was a friendly place with absolutely great service and an enjoyable atmosphere! The food was good to very good, depending... on the dish. The ingredients seemed to be high quality, but some of the dishes were quite greasy or oily, even for this type ofcuisine. And some could have used more interesting seasoning. Somewhere other than Portland, this would have comparedfavorably, but the food wasn't entirely up to what the competition offers. Cochinita pibil was one of the specials the night we went and it didn?t disappoint. My hope is that it will make a well-deserved... place on the daily menu. The way the food was served, various meats in dishes with tortillas in their own container and avariety of salsas and accoutrements of your choice, allowed for some interesting combinations. WOW! This experience was so good! The salsas! My partner and I couldn?t pick a favorite. The flavors were all very distinct,... outstanding, well thought out. I could see the portion sizes for the 1/2 being on the small side for some but it was great forus. We got a 1/2 of steak for two and easily built 6 tacos from it. we also ordered chips and salsa, side of beans, and aPaloma and all were excellent. I mean truly every thing was delicious down to the queso fresco. Our server was Francisco and hewas very attentive and professional. More spacious than it looks from the outside. No wait for party of two on a Friday night. Super friendly service. You choose the... size (half pound or one pound) and type of meat/taco filling and they bring it out with the tortillas and fillings for you toshare and build your own tacos. Fun and super tasty experience. Can see how this would be a fun date night experience but alsoenjoyable for a group or family. We had the birria and al pastor. Both were great, but would recommend the al pastor betweenthe two. Looking forward to trying the steak next time. Read more
