The spinach and cheese empanadas were amazing and the Hotel Nacional was delicious. The vibe is very cute. Can’t wait to go... back! Read more

This venue is Adorable! No surprise this little gem is a female-owned fast casual operation, with uplifting colors, scrumptious... bites and the most friendly, accommodating staff! I am obsessed with the Frozen Pina Colada and the Guava Frozé. I have been ahandful of times now, both with friends and on occasion I have stopped by and sat out back alone (with a Piña colada, ofcourse! ??) to regain composure in the midst of a busy work day. The back Terrace is a slice of serenity. Do yourself a favorand stop in ASAP- I recommend weekdays, as weekends can get crowded! However, anytime is a great time! Read more

My Cuban sandwich was delicious. The supervisor Alejandro and cashier Oliver were very hospitable. The decor is beautiful. Also... outdoor seating with cute lights. Pictured is half my sandwich. I took one bite and didn’t stop until I ate the entire half. Read more

Awful customer service, the cashiers here do not know how to treat people right. Each time I come here they are extremely rude.... I haven’t tried their food, it does look rather unappetizing. However, their piña coladas are good, albeit overpriced. Theone star is for the piña colada. Read more

As a Cuban expatriate living in Maryland, sometimes I long for some of the most iconic foods of my country, easy to find in... South Florida, but pretty rare in my zone. The ones I miss the most are those that are really the kind you get at cafes andcafeterias, like Cuban coffee "coladas" (expresso) or "cafe con leche"(Cuban versión of a latte), with perhaps a side of"croquetas" (ham, chicken or codfish croquettes) or a guava pastry. These are not dishes that you typically would make at home! And there is of course the Cuban sandwich, which as of late has found a Millennial audience, and many imitators. Well, all ofthis, and more you can find at Colada Shop, located in the Cabin John area. The shop is bright, simply decorated, with warm woodtones and splashes of color. There is a small lovely patio in the back, semi-shared with the Thai restaurant next door, Sisters. The service was warm and very friendly (thank you Lily!) and everyone makes you feel at home. The menu is very focused on Cubanfast casual food, and a nice cozy coffee bar. I had the Colada, Shop cubano sandwich, and it was a delicious interpretation of aclassical Miami Cuban sandwich; roasted pork shoulder, ham, Swiss cheese, mustard and pickles, but with some subtle tweaks (thebread was softer, and there was a savory mystery sauce in there, too) that elevated the sandwich. I also had the house-madefried plantain chips; these were fine but I always quip about the "modern" touch of slicing the plantains with the skin on(traditional ones are made with peeled plantains). They also have alcoholic drinks such as Mojito, and other fine beverages andcocktails, which was a pleasant surprise. They have their own versions of "batidos", the Cuban smoothies. There are other ColadaShop locations in Metro DC. Overall a great experience that I recommend to all of my fellow friends. Read more
