I went for dinner with my niece tonight. The food was amazing! We had the risotto balls, eggplant parm and chicken parm. Huge... portions! Everything was delicious and waitress was very friendly. I will definitely be going back. Highly recommend! Read more

***Update*** I've had Aloy's pizza a few times now and the taste is really starting to grow on me. Unfortunately they are... extremely inconsistent with respect to the crust. The crust is always thin but not always crunchy. More often 'floppy'. Again,interesting/ good taste just rarely thin and crunchy. *** This is one of the more difficult reviews I've written. Despiteliving in/around Poughkeepsie for 50+ years, I've never been to Aloys. I've heard their pizza is legendary, and the food isfantastic, unfortunately that was not my experience but I'm going to go back and give it another try. For now, all I can give itis 3 stars. On the plus side the staff is friendly and attentive. Although the atmosphere is nothing special and somewhatdated, there's also something appealing about it - it just feels 'comfortable'. As you come in there's a bar to the right andthe dining area is to the left. Past the dining area is a large room for parties. As far as the food goes, we had their pizza. It took a very long time to arrive. My dining partner has had their pizza many times before and loves it. Me, not so much. It'sthin crust (which I do like) and we had half cheese and half pepperoni. The cheese only pie was better as it was much less oilywith a crispy crust. I could easily pick it up and eat it. The pepperoni was very oily, thin crust also but far too 'floppy' topick up. The taste for both was just ok. There are a lot of reviews that speak highly of the pizza, so perhaps it's just mebecause I'm just not tasting it. The next time I go back I will try something other than the pizza and hopefully be able torate it higher. Read more

Honestly this place was a terrible experience from start to finish. The placemat was dirty upon seating us. Had to ask multiple... times for a glass of wine. I asked for blue cheese dressing in my salad and for uncharged 2$ for a tiny blue cheese crumble withItalian dressing which had no flavor. The table next to us didn?t even get their salads and when they asked about it theyoffered to give them to go salads because the entrees were ready. The portions were minimal! I got the stuffed rigatoni and wasstill hungry. My friends penne ala vodka was terrible which they pride themselves on. They charged us twice for a fish dish andthen the waitress tried to make it seem like she was saving us a dollar on our chicken wing appetizer but accidentally ringingup two seafood entree. She said it was 22$ for ten chicken wings. We would have never have gotten them had we known. They weregeneric and nothing special. I would never ever go back here again, not even if I was paid. I normally do not trash restaurantson these reviews, but I really can not sit back and let other people choose to eat at this dump. Read more

Love Aloys. Every time I've been here i left with a full stomach and even some good left overs for home. They have a small but... great dessert menu and the price is just right for the quality. Many people don't come here when I do and that's a plus for me.I definitely recommend this place to any person to loves Italian food. Read more
