Waitress was complaining out loud, and could also hear her arguing with the chef in the kitchen. Everything we ordered was... messed up. Bacon was way overcooked and pancakes tasted like instant mix pancakes. We will not be back. Read more

My family and I went her last week. 2 of us ordered the prime rib and the other 2 had the beer battered shrimp. The waitstaff... was very friendly and probably the only reason this isn't a 1 star review. I'm not sure what was going on with the prime rib. I have never seen prime rib like that. I ordered it medium rare and it came out looking like a ribeye steak. It was well doneon the outside and still rare on the inside. I have cooked for years and I would not call this prime rib. Chewy and stringy. I had the ranch mashed potatoes with it. They were cold and dry. The members of the party that had the shrimp reported that itwas good. It did look good also. The prices for add ones are a bit ridiculous. $4 for some onions and $6 for mushrooms? Come on, that mark up is a bit extreme. Our meals were supposed to come with bread and butter, but they were never brought tous. Read more

We ordered polluck fish fry for take out. My fiance went in to pay when we got there. While the inside atmosphere is nice and he... said the employees were very friendly, we were quite disappointed with our meals. The polluck pieces were big but most of it wasovercooked and chewy. We paid almost $40 for 2 meals and got 2 pieces of fish each (as promised) the baked sweet potato andmashed potatoes were a fairly decent size. But we got 2 very small slices of rye bread cut in half, half a small take outcontainer of cold baked beans and half a small take out container of coleslaw to split between the 2 of us. Basically we paidall that money for overcooked fish. Probably will not return. Read more

Good service, good conversation, good food, and cold beer. What's not to like? We decided to "head out" of the "sports" bar... nexr door called Head In due to the lack of any indistinguishable service....hell who am I kidding, there was absolutely NOservice - and we were hungry. We waited at least ten minutes only to be told I'll be right with you by the bartender, git ourown menus and continued to be ignored until my wife had enough....and if momma ain't happy, am I right? So we hit up the Owl'sNest and all three if us were happy that we did. Again, good friendly service AND good food at I might add, at a reasonableprice. You should try it...the sweet potato fries were cooked perfectly and the sandwiches were spot on! The place to be inPoynette WI...if you are ever in Poynette. Read more
