New to the neighborhood and was delighted to find such great baked goods, wonderful coffee, and warm customer service. The vibe... here is great, and I would have left a higher review if it weren?t for the fact that I discovered workers were being paid 9dollars an hour. It?s inexcusable in this industry to pay below minimum wage or even less than 20 an hour. Raise your staffswages please! Read more
So I love this place and the employees. I love the food and the drinks. The creative pastries such as the ginger scone always... make my day. I truly believe that it gives the small town coffee shop vibes everyone loves. The employees know this place likethe back of their hands and clearly work very hard to provide such good service. The 2 stars is simply because of the uppermanagement and the fact that this company finds it appropriate to pay their staff $9 an hour. People please...not only is itdisrespectful and embarrassing,it also simply does not reflect the current job market. I fully support this store's unionizationand bargaining efforts. Tipping is always good but my friends here at Hope St. should not have to work at the mercy of thepublic and other people's discretion for their wages. They truly deserve better. If I was leaving this review simply for theemployees and the service, I'd give it seven stars. Read more

Would have made it 5? but everything came in paper bags and to-go cups although we opted to dine in. We always look to minimize... the paper waste that comes with every to-go order, and opt to dine-in when we can. Besides, we ordered cappuccino with the hopethat there would be latte art on our coffee, although this is slightly less important. Overall the vibe was great though, justneeds some more refinements. I was visiting my sister in providence and she talked about how great the coffee and pastries were. When we arrived the service... was great and my latte was perfect. However I was shocked to learn from my sisters friend that the baristas are only paid $9 anhour. Cost of living in providence is not cheap and inflation is through the roof I feel like if you really valued your workersyou would pay them a living wage. Especially at such a nice establishment.
