We stopped here for dinner on a Tuesday. The restaurant was clean and cozy. The waitress was very nice and efficient. My friend... and I ordered salads with blue cheese and chicken on them. While we waited, we were served dinner rolls and cornbread muffinswhich were excellent. The salads were very good and the beer was cold. There was no rush to move us out. All together anexcellent meal. Two beers and two big salads came to 34 dollars. You won?t go wrong eating here. Read more

Always great to eat at a black eyed pea. This time we were passing through and decided to give this location a whirl. We were... immediately greeted upon entrance and were seated moments later. A very nice gentleman came and took our drink order and gave usour menus. We probably surprised him with our large order as we were traveling and wanted to get a bunch of goodies to take onthe road with us for later. We got the appetizer special it was called the American sampler and everything was totally yummy. Weordered the fried green tomatoes which were a little clumpy and big I would say. I had a charbroiled chop steak which was goodand my husband had the wonderful fried catfish. To top it off I ordered a mile high chocolate cake to go. Got to say when I gotback to the hotel I think I fell into a short coma from all the sweetness. Everything was very good and Anton thanks once againsorry that we kept ordering things like we were eating for a busload of people. We did enjoy our dinner when we got home againthe following day. We will see you again in the future and thank you once again. Read more

Delicious Potato Bowls! The flavor was a good old fashion style pot roast topped with home-style mashed potatoes...(if the... carrots were cut smaller, I would have given them 5 stars.) The sweet potato fries were tasty too! Read more

Surprisingly good! But huge portion sizes. This location looked and was busy but we got seated right away. The menu is typical... American country fare with a mix of some Mexican and Puebloan flavors. We first ordered the fried pickles as a starter. We weretold that they are vertical strips rather than circular and honestly imagined that they would be small vertical strips. As youcan see from the picture, they were gigantic. We got the jalapeno based dip and it was delicious!! I think the dip was 70% ofthe reason we liked our pickles. For the entrees, my friend and I both got the potato bowls. She got the regular chicken oneand I got the Irish pie. Big portions for sure but both were delicious. The mashed potatoes on the top were well done and reallyadded to the dish. My pie had a lot of pulled pork which was very tasty and you had to dig in a bit to get to the veggies. Wefinished about 30% of our portions and took everything else to go. I was actually surprised that I would like this place sinceit is a chain but I did! Read more
