Q Burger is ranked as one of the top 5 burgers in Canada, and so we had to check it out. It's hard to live up to such high... expectations, especially considering we were there on one of the hottest days of the year, but Q Burger nailed it! If anyone is looking for me, friends, police, bill collectors, my wife or the CRA I?ll make it easy for you; just keep Q Burger... under surveillance and I?ll turn up really soon. We found out about QB (if I may be so presumptuous as to use their initials)through an article in the Parksville Qualicum Beach News. We are in a mixed marriage, I?m vegan but she?s normal and way toonice to me when it comes time to choose restaurants, as she did in this case, with vegan options. We were able to score a niceoutside table during a brief lull last Saturday although they were still crazy busy because of the article. Once we scanned themenu she chose the Wicked Sticky with fries (chicken breast with a balsamic reduction) and I picked the Quinoa Crunch whichhappily included all of my favourite veggies and avocado on a quinoa burger in a wrap with a side salad. She loved her WickedSticky and I was blown away by the quinoa burger, in fact, I?ve already been back for another just to make sure I wasn?tdreaming (well, that?s my excuse). The service was amazingly quick and so was the arrival of our orders, considering how busythey were with dine-in and take-outs, we were pleasantly surprised. Everything arrived hot, perfectly ?condimented? and in verygenerous proportions. I inhaled mine but she was able to bring half of the chicken home for another meal. I couldn?t bringmyself to insult the chef by asking for a doggy bag so I finished it off (that?s my story). By the way, the citrus saladdressing was delicious. Our server, Erin doubles as the owner. So good so good so good! I like everything about this place! Apparently they're in the top five burgers in Canada. I believe... it! I've eaten my share of burgers, but these (And my guests agreed) are the best burgers we've ever had. The Q-boom is amust... Or you could have the Sonic Boom (with pickles and hot sauce in a flour tortilla and baked). I couldn't finish theSonic! The homemade ranch dressing is fantastic... The drink selection is awesome and well-priced. The Cheese-Quake dessertwas amazing... Poetry on a plate! I've had fancy and expensive and kitchen sink burgers before... But Q Burger does somethingbetter than those ones. The flavours all work together and don't meld into one tasteless mass.
