I didn't think much about this place because it was tucked away from Flushing's bustling main street with a lowkey storefront... entrance. Just one of those local restaurants trying to get by right? I was wrong. I was pretty impressed by the quality of thefood, especially their string beans, and although it is a simple dish, they managed to elevate it with the right amount ofseasoning and crispness. They also managed to make good steamed fish - a dish I rarely look forward to because many restaurantsdon't have the patience to bring it to standard but I was surprised by how well done it was. Overall the food remains authenticbut I noticed subtle hints that appease the western palate. This is one of the few restaurants that can make me understand tonot "judge by its cover" and it makes a very solid point. Their menu is extensive and I look forward to coming back to try moreof their menu. FYI, I noticed this restaurant's service and staff are not as friendly to non-locals and ABCs. Read more

It was our 2nd visit to Alley 41 with a group of five since we have read lots of great reviews on social media and they have won... the list of Michelin Plate for four years. We got Chicken Dumplings with Chili Sauce, Double Cooked Pork, Szechuan BraisedBeef, Braised Port Intestines, Fried Rice and Fish Filet in Sour Soup. The portion was okay with a reasonable price. The foodwas overall delicious, especially the chicken dumplings which were flavorful and fried rice which was cooked perfectly. We weregoing to try their Cumin Lamb but they ran out of it already, so we might plan to visit again. Read more

Update 9/16/22: We ordered a couple of different items the second time. Preserved veggie fish soup, beef with bamboo shoot and... cauliflower. The beef and bamboo shoot was extremely salty and the restaurant allowed us to change to something else. This timethe food didn't really wow us. Everything was more meh ????. I'm actually surprised we haven't been here in all the years ofliving here. The flavors here are really good and are a reasonably priced for the portion. We ordered the twice cooked pork, soybean paste fish and handmade pancake (non scallion). The only thing was that it took a very long time for the fish. We willdefinitely come back again to try other dishes though. Read more

It serves very authentic Sichuan food! The inner decor is stylish and peaceful, the food is amazingly tasty, and the price is... very reasonable. This is definitely a under-appreciated Sichuan restaurant in Flushing. A must try if you are into Sichuan food! Read more

This is a very cozy place. The waiter is very helpful and can help you to order. My wife and I don't eat meat so he helped us... order the Fried Eggplant dish without the meat. The couple next table over can't take the heat but liked our Spicy Tofu so thewaiter helped them by telling the kitchen to cut out the heat. It was a fine dining experience for me and my wife.
