I go to this restaurant with my girlfriends 3 times a year and it is always great. This past Saturday had another wonderful... meal - prime rib Saturday, delicious. The server was amazing too. Super sweet and helpful. Wish I could remember her name. Don't forget the cake when you visit. The strawberry shortcake was great. We were visiting family members in Raleigh on Thursday September 7, 2022 when we decided to have dinner at this restaurant. We... have been to Nantucket about a dozen times in the past 4 years. We have always found their food to be very good to excellent.Their cakes are pretty exceptional too. The food portions are ample. I’ve even had to take some amount of my dinner homebecause I couldn’t finish it on many occasions. It’s always been a pleasant treat to have a meal there. That changed on ourlast visit. We were seated promptly, at our request, on the outdoor patio. The indoor dining area appeared to be mostly full,but not overly so. Our server came to the table within minutes of our seating. We ordered our drinks. It appeared to take a bitlonger in waiting for them. Our server came to explain that the bartender was doing double duty and waiting on tables. Indeed wehad just overheard him say that very thing to an adjacent table. He stated that “the customer is always right.” He also saidto those customers that he was an expert at making martinis. Well, I love a good martini as well as the next person. So I wasgreatly anticipating mine as that was what I had ordered in the first place. We waited for a few more minutes before our drinksarrived. I was very surprised that the martini arrived half full. I said so to the server. She stated that she was embarrassedto serve the drink the way it was. However, she also did not offer to correct the issue. A short time later, thebartender/server came out to check on his table. He asked about my drink as he was passing our table. My wife remarked that itwas a short pour. He picked up the empty glass and said “oh, there must be a crack in the glass.” It was not said kindly orin a joking manner. Delicious New England fare... We tried the Crab Dip, Clam Chowder, Holiday Surf n Turf and Stuffed Tilapia... Hard to pick a... single favorite as each dish was special and delicious in its own way... We were celebrating our anniversary and our serverserved us some lovely triple chocolate cake on the house...
