Decided to try the Emerald City Grill last Saturday around 9 a.m. We ordered breakfast over the phone and arrived to pick it up... at time we were told it would be ready (30 minutes later). Only one of the breakfasts was ready, so we started on that while wewaited for the other. The hashed browns were burnt on the bottom and cold and soggy on top, and so was the corned beef hash. I?mnot talking crispy?which would be nice?but burnt black and bitter. The eggs weren?t scrambled?they looked as if they had beendropped on a too-hot dirty grilltop and then chopped up as they fried. The eggs were cooked as hard as rubber balls and therewere bits of black grit in them. The only thing that wasn?t burnt was the toast, which was flabby, soggy, and pale. So nasty wethrew away most of it, and I couldn?t believe this breakfast cost $14. Our other breakfast was biscuits and gravy, which wasn?tready until about ten minutes later (so, 40-45 minutes after order was placed). Gravy was not heated through, and biscuits wereroom temp, so I?m not sure why we had to wait so long. The place smelled like burnt grease and the ashtray by the cash registerwas overflowing with cigarette butts. Middle of Saturday breakfast time, and only two other people were there. Edited afterowner's response to include: There isn't a reason for a restaurant to knowingly send out subpar food--only excuses. We won't becalling because we have read your responses to other reviews and prefer not to subject ourselves to that by phone. Read more

Out of ham for breakfast. Very small portions and big city prices. Everything tasted like all the ingredients were the least... expensive possible. We won't be going back. ADDED AFTER RESPONSE: I give many good reviews! This was the third time we triedyour restaurant and decided to give 1 more try. I'm not a complainer because I choose where to eat after trying a few times. Idon't give reviews for 1 poor quality meal; I only have given a few and after several tries. I stand by my review. I know howthe economy is affecting people. The waitress told me about the ham after we ordered and I overheard her say that she justcouldn't remember it. We vote for a restaurant with our dollars. Your excuses just don't matter to me. Your opinion is what itis. In the future, we'll be going elsewhere! Read more

The food was less than satisfactory. My order came with hashbrowns per the menu and was brought fries.. didn?t want to wait so... just delt with the mess up?We had one waiter in the beginning but ended up having every staff member check on us and fill ourdrinks and honestly we just wanted left alone to eat. The owner doesn?t seem very happy or friendly at all. The place had nocustomers on what should be a packed Sunday lunch anywhere else and obviously no support from the local community and I can seewhy. The prices are ridiculous. We are from out of town and we definitely would not Choose to eat there again. Good luck. Read more
