Love Ooba Tooba! This is a no nonsense place with amazing Mexican food. I hadn't eaten there for years and for some reason... started eating here recently and boy I can't believe I missed very good Mexican food all these years. They put the other socalled "Mexican" restaurants in the area to shame. The salsas are the best I have had in a Mexican restaurant second only to oldtown San Diego. The veggie burrito is the best I have ever had. Don't expect restaurant service or ambience but this placesimply rocks. When the weather is good, love their outdoor seating. Portion size should be more for the price. Read more

What sets Ooba Tooba apart from the other standard Mexican restaurants in Redmond (besides the fun name) is the salsa bar; while... this is generally a mainstay in a typical Mexican restaurant, it is rare to find the offering in this area. Enjoy your meal witha variety of fresh made salsa; I prefer the fiery habanero and the smokey salsa del dia. Speaking of meals, while the food iscasual Mexican fare with that ubiquitous PNW twist, it is by all means delicious, if not completely authentic. The burritos arethe best bang for your buck, with the pork offerings being my go-to. Complementary tortilla chips with your meal are a big plus. Read more

One of my favorite places on the East Side! It's a small Mexican restaurant that is quite unique. Their burritos, for example,... are somewhere in the middle between super wet ones that you get at some places, and super dry ones that make you choke thatother places have :) So Ooba's burrito is my go to when I want something to go, or even when I sit down there. They are alsonot afraid of experimenting and have a lot of interesting dishes on the menu that are changing regularly. Last, but not least, they are one of the best bangs for the buck! Their food is very tasty, yet doesn't break the bank! Oh, and everyone is SUPERfriendly! I have been eating at this place for so many years, I don't even remember how long! And they continue to be my"default" place when I need food and haven't made any plans. Read more

Started eating here since they opened. Visited recently for a luncheon on trip back from San Juan Islands. It was excellent,... just as I remembered over 9yrs ago. The number of tech interviews I've done there is unmeasurable. Only thing I missed were theexcellent mojito's that were no longer offered. Read more

I used to be a big OT fan when it was in Factoria, so when I saw it had opened in Redmond, I was excited to revisit it. My wife... suggested Chipotle for dinner and I said let?s try OT. When we ordered, the large male cashier seemed put out by my wife askingif the corn tortillas were gluten free, he was short with her and kind of joked about her questions. In the middle of taking ourorder, he stops us and walks back to the phone in the kitchen to answer it. I?m asking myself, is that phone call more importantthan finishing collecting our order and there were several kitchen staff that could have answered the call. Anyhow, My wife hashad some digestive issues and needs to be careful about what she eats so she does ask questions about how things are preparedand what they contain. During our order my wife was asked if she wanted rice and beans and she said yes. When our food arrivedoutside where we sat, the person called out a name that was not ours, and then recited what the order was and we said that itwas probably our (this leads to my point that the cashier didn?t listen to us) with the order on the table my wife points outthat there were no rice and beans, so I go back inside and mention it to the younger female that is now working the cashier. Bigguy over hears and starts protesting that she (my wife) didn?t order the rice and beans. At this point I?m ready to engage as Istayed quiet when he was rude earlier, and I tell him to pull up the order and let?s look at the receipt. The receipt does notshow that we paid for the R&B but it?s not a money thing for Me now I just want to light this guy up for being rude twice now.Anyhow the burrito lacked flavor, was full of clumpy white rice, my wife left the salmon on the plate along with the rice andbeans. A poorly spent $35. This place is 2 blocks from where I work and I would love to have had it be a go to, but I won?t goback. Hope this helps???? Read more
