Top Wok disappointed me. I was craving the Chinese take-out comfort food I remember from my youth--not fancy fusion cuisine, not... challenging authentic cuisine, and not fast food--and after reading these reviews, I was hopeful that Top Wok would hit thespot. I ordered hot braised shrimp and pork with broccoli. The pork was not great, but the shrimp was the real disaster. Therewere two shrimp in my hot braised shrimp. Two. The dish was 80% under-cooked carrots. If they were out of shrimp, they couldhave told me and I would have ordered something else. The restaurant was clean and empty, the prices were low, and the staffwas friendly enough. If I lived across the street from this place I would try it again and hopefully find something on the menuthat I like. Read more

In a little strip mall in Redondo Beach lives one of those hidden gems: Top Wok! This is the Chinese food you arealways hoping to be served. It sets the bar high for anything else you will find in Socal, whether super high end or hole inthe wall. We live an hour away and drive to Redondo Beach just to eat here. Potstickers that are delicate and delicious. Beefsticks that I could eat as a meal by themselves. The sole in hot garlic sauce and shrimp in black bean sauce and both savoryand chock full of tender bits of fish/shrimp and fresh veggies. My personal favorite is the Kung Pao (we got the chicken) -honestly every time we go out for Chinese, this is the Kung Pao we are always comparing to!! No steam table. Cooked to order. Everything I've ordered has been great and way better quality than Panda Express. This is the only place where you can order... jalapeño fried rice?yum! Love the fact that they deliver?.Don't make the mistake of ordering through GrubHub, though. Orderdirectly from the restaurant! Read more
