Far and away the best and most authentic Turkish cuisine I?ve had stateside. Better yet, the spectacular food is served up by a... genuinely warm and friendly staff. We ordered lunch and enjoyed both the grilled salmon & chicken kebab entrees. The rice served had a nice texture and was... flavorful along with the sauces & salad provided. This place has outdoor seating, which helps, when there are easily bored kidswith you. It's not a fast food place, so kindly expect reasonable wait time for your orders to be served. We were here for dessert. Their baklava and kunefe and both were great!! The Turkish tea in Turkish glass was also pretty nice.

I found this place by coincidence, and I'm glad I did! I wandered in to check out the menu and the very nice guy at the counter... explained the menu options accessibly and told me about the most popular options. I love schwarma, so I went with the Dönerwrap, and I was impressed. Many schwarma wraps you can get in Reston use clumsy or thick pitas that make a complete mess onceyou start biting. This wrap was thin, lightly toasted, and held together perfectly. The schwarma itself was was lightly seasonedbut still tasty. It came with lettuce, tomato, red onion, and tzatziki, but it wasn't heavily acidic like so many other kebabrestaurants I've tried in the area. I would also like to discuss the fries! They were the extra crispy type and also I couldtell they were fresh, which impressed me since I was having a very late lunch. I think I would give a 9/10 or even a 10/10 forthe food, 10/10 for service, and then 10/10 for character. Taste of Istanbul is family owned and opened two years ago (duringthe pandemic).
